I own a mainstream biz. Is it worth it to shoot my own content for my website?
I own a brick and mortar mainstream biz where customers have to deal with me directly sometime. This business is not year round though and i really only work hard 4 months out the year, giving me plenty of time for porn. Ive actually been in "adult" longer though, because i actually bought an established franchise. Ive wanted to dive into producing my own content for sometime. I guess im worried about losing the anonymity that being in an affiliate program provides. Im thinking of something "pov" style with an interesting twist in a under developed niche. How have some of you who shoot for yourselves remained anonymous? I mean eventually doesnt someone recognize you even if they dont see your face wont they recognize the voice? What kind of camera equipment is good to start with? And above all should i just stick to being an affiliate? Maybe i just want to experiment, but i have always been intrigued by having "total control" of my own content and product. Opinions please. Thanks.

If you are afraid of being seen stay out of it sooner or later some one always finds out.

Why not hire someone to shoot for you?
Easy. |

Brutally honest answer...
The internet can do without another new amateur pov website for now... we're all set. However, I don't want to knock another man's hustle so if you've got a burning desire to do it, then do it. You'll (most likely) lose money in it for a long time... but who cares, you're having fun and getting laid. Wanna test the waters? Shoot a couple scenes, throw them up on clips4sale and see what they do. The paysite game is ruthless these days. The little guy stands next to no chance in making a dent anymore. The competition is just too fierce... plus, only assholes join websites anymore. Porn is free these days (sarcastic... but true). - PornAddict |

PS if you wish to remain anonymous, I hope you have a really good plan on dealing with the 2257 laws - past, present, and future. |

Hire professionals to shoot your content, hire talent to do the biz for you, when the fbi comes knocking at your door cause of the strangest problem with anything you will not have to worry. you will never remain anonymous no matter what all they have to do is look at the 2257 on your stuff and there your covers are blown...

you want to start shooting your own content, ofcourse POV because you need to get off too right?
You hate paying people and you aren't worried as you will be using amateurs and first timers, so you won't pay them? To be brutally honest, you're just looking to get laid with chicks you normally won't have a chance with, but the idea of you being able to tell the " i can make you a great model" or " can make you famous, all you have to do is is test shoot with me" is something you think will get you more pussy. If you are serious, then maybe start with some research and learn about testing and 2257, go out and spend some decent money on gear, this investment will make you want to earn money with it and the pussy becomes less important. otherwise, get a hooker from craigslist and think about other things then adult. Oh, and I am pretty sure you won't find a designer unless you pay upfront after the comment about hating to pay people. Good luck |
Lots more to a paysite than filming and fucking..
Getting Girls, Filming, Editing, Hosting, Site dev, marketing, Billing, legal, equipment, etc.. The internet is a big place... Your content will be like a needle in a haystack.. |

Um did you read before you went off on me? Lets retrace, ok?:thumbsup I was off so i didnt have a chance to respond. First while im "new" Im not really a "noob", Im still learning. I actually have several adult domains and a couple of websites. One of which i will be using your content on.:thumbsup Im not looking to get laid with hot chicks i would not otherwise be able too. In fact because of my other business and because i have friends with big mouths, i frequently get approached by women looking to make a quick buck. They hear that i have a website next thing i know Im getting questions. How much i make, how easy is it, how much could they make etc etc... I work also part-time at a job (im a busy guy) with mostly all male staff with money (pornographers paradise, not mcds :thumbsup) Of course me being the enterprising person i am i have showed these guys my site. Some love it and sign up there on the spot on my laptop. Others go out and blab to others and chicks, so thats how i get so many inquiries. Ok, back to the main premise i explain to people that im just a affiliate etc etc but they wont stop/ dont understand. Truthfully i really dont want to be on camera but this seems the cheapest and quickest way to get set up. Also i think my 2 biggest questions were: How profitable will or can it be for the single operator, and the risk involved. I love adult i have made some decent extra change from it probably could make more doing what i do now, but like i said i im interested in truly "owning" a business. Oh back to the employees deal: I had 17 employees at one point this year (mainstream), so i know plenty. Thanks.:2 cents: |
Thanks to all the great suggestions and commentary so far!!!

If you have some resources to shoot never before seen girls and can keep that flow going and you shoot quality stuff then sure you can do well. As long as you keep in mind that at the end of the day you need to have money in your pocket, if you got your nut off on top of it then that's a bonus. Most only worry about getting their nut off though. I also wished you good luck, which I wish everyone that wants to start, because i know how hard it is. |
You sell Halloween costumes in your B&M?
|
if you have the equipment and access to models i would do it yourself....this way you get exactly what you want :2 cents:

The reason I ask is 'cause you mentioned 4 months, which is about how long they are busy, and then the rest of the year is just random orders they get. |
