PS: I wouldn`t work there ever because I am afraid of dead people

JimmiDean 03-14-2009 04:47 AM

Retirment home workers do well these days too.

Don't forget vets etc... But involves shitload of studying.

woj 03-14-2009 09:11 AM

Not sure about that one, there are ton of other jobs paying 50k/year that don't involved dealing with dead people...

Reak AGV 03-14-2009 10:39 AM

I have to agree with you on this one Gene, but do you really want to work in that kind of branch?

ContentPimp 03-14-2009 11:03 AM

My grandpa owned a funeral home, flower shop and a casket factory. No joke :)

onwebcam 03-14-2009 11:05 AM

People are dying to get in those places.

CaptainHowdy 03-14-2009 11:36 AM

Good point. Given the massive wave of retiring Baby Boomers, retirement home staff careers (from admin on down) will be quite healthy for many many years to come.:thumbsup

If all the hits were localized in areas he owned a funeral parlor, that would be ONE HELL of a VERTICALLY INTEGRATED business empire :thumbsup:1orglaugh

Another industry to look into in times of recession/depression is Wholesale and Retail Liquor

People will drink regardless, and they drink even more in times of hardship.

Seriously.

I think you're right. Part of the reason Prohibition was repealed during FDR's administration was the huge surge in alcohol consumption.

I worked at a bar and there was this guy who used to come in. He didnt have shit, was always broke bounced from job to job. He got a job selling burial plots the guy took to it like a fish to water. All of sudden he was dressing better, had a nicer car. He loved that business. I had never seen such a change in someone.
