Seems as it had become more popular over the past decade or so and now with each passing day it is becoming more and more harmful to everyone's overall well being. Today the spread of misinformation, bad information, and outright fucked up fringe group conspiracy nut job information is coming out at a faster pace. Now even the stupidest and most down right crazy people can network with others with ease. Then it also seems people in general who would normally laugh something off or slap the messenger for being so stupid will believe anything that they read in a email or see in video form no matter how fucking loony it would normally sound.

It's harmful only because it's full of idiots.

I know it is just a tool and yes you are somewhat right.
Though I have seen people who are normally very smart in the real world fall for and believe some really stupid shit once they got online.

Agreed but I really think the net allows it to harm on a mass scale. It is like an idiot weapon of mass destruction.

Hell I would reason a lot of the financial mess we have can be tracked back to it.

I just see it as evening the playing field. so what if you got an assload of conspiracy quacks and misinformation out there coming from the left field? was life any different with television radio and print feeding you a headfull of shit from right field?

the idiots are gonna pick a side either way and believe whatever they're told. at least there's some variety in the day to day bullshit people are fed now.
