Goddamn. Watermark Your Fucking Clips
So this evening I am going through some foot fetish link lists. Mainly to give to my assistants next week for entry in to FOOTBANDIT (search engine). As I am just plugging away to see if active, or dead (a lot of link lists, review sites, top lists are junk and old) I come across some tube lists.
Interesting that these are showing up on some link lists now, so I click some of the links. They link directly to YouTube profiles. I guess that is what you would call them. They are not sites, and I am not a big YouTube user. But these people who have managed to cherry pick a lot of foot fetish clips for their own 'batch' of files I guess. Long story short, I see a lot of my direct competitions clips on there. I mean a lot. There is some I have never seen before, but it is independents. Not the BRO studios. Too bad too. Some of it I would have bought if I knew where to fucking get it. I recognize some footsie babes. Some I WANT FEET. Some DDF. Some Silvercherry and about a dozen other studios. A lot of clips that were never watermarked are now watermarked with.. http://www.69us.info/ I know some of these studios are simple hobbiest independants. So they are basically being ripped off. Since they do not watermark their clips, they get other people doing it for them, and ripping them off. Worse, those with some good content I have come across (while looking for our shit, and also checking links) is not watermarked so you have no idea where to go buy it from, clip store or otherwise. I know of a TON of foot sites from my decade plus in the online business, and personal niche as a webmaster and consumer, plus now doing the FOOT FETISH search engine. But I have yet to see some of the clips I have come across. So not only is their content being stolen, they are also not getting any business from those who are interested in their shit. Fucking unreal. :disgust |

You know (and so does everyone else) you clicked the "view post" link :1orglaugh
OWNED! |
The problems:
1. At least for my members, they've spoken loud and clear - they do NOT want watermarks. 2. I've done some experiments, and actual YouTube *buyers* are VERY few and far between. At one point, I put a notice up that the YouTube clips were there for promotion, and while it was nice that my promotional clips all got 5 star ratings --- if no YouTube folks bought anything, there would be no reason to continue posting promotional material. That brought on several furious attacks about how I had no idea how to market ;) It basically has confirmed what I've always said, the vast majority on YouTube have no interest in buying anything, from anyone. I find it much easier, rather than pissing off members - to just check YouTube once every couple of days for new material, and have it taken down. |

I have never had a single complaint over the years on watermark, other than when we had first started people asked me to shift it a bit. We did. Have not heard anything since. Same with DivX. To hear most of the board tell it. If they use DivX or Xvid then they are bombarded with complaints. I get maybe a half dozen who contact me. I provide them instructions for the codec. End of problem. They typically just contact me to tell me they can hear but not see, or vice versa. Then they do the codec, and never hear from them again on complaints. |

My all-time lists of member complaints, in order: 1. "Such-and-such a girl is a crappy smoker" (even if they're not lol). 2. "You have too many naked girls on your site" (I usually have a total of four "R or X" photo sets and two video sets per month - compared to 12 "PG" photo sets and four video sets). 3. (When I tried watermarking) "The watermarks are way too distracting." 4. "The site doesn't work right" (usually from people on WebTV or some other contraption - or people who need to clear their browser cache lol). |

The best one ever was a guy who demanded of all producers, and on all messageboards, that we shoot videos of girls smoking in "puffy ski jackets zipped half-way up." The runner-up is a guy who asked every producer who did custom videos, to do a video of girls smoking with long holders, being hit with coconut cream pies (and he was specific about the recipe for the pies) for half an hour; there are actually about five smoking/pie videos out there, from producers who took the money and did it :1orglaugh |

I had always heard about that smoking fetish stuff over the years. They sound almost as insane as those fishmen. I have a buddy who set up some musky fishing message board. He kept inviting me, not a fisherman, hunter, or outdoors dude mind you, and some other friends to post there. Well, they did not appreciate my lack of musky knowledge. Apparently you have to be PhD musky to post on the board. I found it amusing to say the least. :1orglaugh |

Don't even know what musky fishing is - haven't had a fishing pole in my hands since I was 15 :1orglaugh |

When I was a kid I used to fish some. Blue Gill, Catfish, and Bass is all I really have ever caught in my life. Some buddies used to try and spear Carp. I was along on some of those adventures. That was some 20+ years ago easily. Musky is apparently some silly ass sports fish, like a Pike. Hard to catch, get big, released in 'select' lakes. Apparently it is some big whoopee doo. To musky madness fishermen I guess. My buddy, and his fishing buddies, wear actual musky hats, shirts, and such. Fucking crazy. |
can you eat a musky? is that a fish or just a phrase?

I know my buddy eats fish he catches, and he ONLY goes musky fishing. He says normal fishing is boring compared to the hunt of the musky. Kinda crazy. $20,000.00 plus for a boat, 300+ lures, sonar m depth finders, or whatever it is. All the other boat shit to go in 2 local lakes after only one kinda fish. Especially when we must have some 20-30 lakes in this county, and 100 within an hours driving distance. :disgust |

:Oh crap |

Never realized fishing one type could be so extreme. Your buddy spend 20K+ for a trip? He must make his money back selling the fish... I've just never been to restaurant and ordered musky... never heard of it |
Quote:
This is his personal hobby. He does do some tournaments. But he's never placed higher that 3rd I do not think. Regardless, I know he has done nothing to monitize 300 lures, and a 20k boat. |

However, I do not use one of those huge watermarks like some I see for these other sites. I used simple text, and turn up the translucent 50%, or whatever that feature is in Premiere. I would have to check the actual action to be sure. But I know the watermark is not so harsh and you can see through it. But still watermarks the videos. |

speaking of watermarks, i built a script to batch merge and convert videos so people can add trailers to their videos, if anyone is interested , drop your contact

Notice the difference between "the watermarks you did are too distracting" and "we abhor all watermarks". These are both Turing Images, recently renamed "CAPTCHA" by those who didn't know the correct term. Just because one would be really annoying doesn't meant he other one is, does it? https://www.bettercgi.com/tmp/PRINT.gif https://www.bettercgi.com/tmp/badturing.jpg Perhaps those watermarks were, like the bottom image, rather annoying, but that doesn't mean one couldn't do a better watermark, just as the top image shows a better Turing Image. |

The captchas were in reference to Mike's post :) there was probably a reason why the watermarks were distracting

The "problem" is that I compete in a small arena - and I was the only site watermarking - therefore, my vids were the only watermarked vids they watched. So they stood out as different - and therefore "distracting." |
I hate watermarked clips sometimes. Depending on how I'm using them it feels like the surfer will see it and just directly type the domain into his/her browser, therefore fucking me (the affiliate) over. It's like a traffic leak. And I hate leaks. Sometimes I'll hold my piss for days just because I hate leaks. And you know what? It hurts sometimes, but I stick to it! You know why? Because I'm no quitter. I hate quitters. I even hate people who quit drugs and quit smoking cigarettes because it's still a form of quitting.
Thank you. |

1. The affiliate and their leaks. Programs that allow non-watermarks. 2. Programs who license content but do not enforce copyright so it spreads like wild fire. 3. Content providers who license the content but do not enforce copyright so it spreads like wild fire. There is a break down between 2 & 3 on who should be enforcing the copyright. I suppose the content provider doesn't care once they have sold it a time or two, or shot for the program. The program is trying to run 120 sites, so they do not worry about enforcement issues because it's not on the radar. That is until it spreads like mad and their latest updates are on some board, tube, or torrent. Then they cry in their beer. However, there is also the independents. A lot of clips I saw without watermarks were hobbiest and independent studios who do not watermark. Some do not have pay sites. So I think it is more about the technical issue of watermarking there. Or lack of foresight to what happens with their content. Simply put, no magic bullet to fix it. But watermarking your shit would help get you more sales, and make the stuff easier to track down. |
Creative double copyright infringement.
It's a DDF, Hot Legs and Feet, clip where they resized to remove the watermark. Then have a music soundtrack over it. https://youtube.com/watch?v=4ZZbw9WtPSA |
