The Simpsons .. just not like it used to be.
 

Ever since Family Guy has been re-introduced into society, The Simpsons seems a bit lackluster.

I am a lifetime fan of the simpsons, but now a days I can't watch more than 1 episode without being extremely bored.

I guess when your used to the speed of Family Guy and utterly hilarious shit packed in every 5 seconds, the simpsons seems incredibly slow paced in comparison.

The Simpsons will be gone in a couple of years.

Family Guy is good but lots of people can't stand it.. I personally find Family Guy funnier.. I cant stand American Dad or the outter space one.. i forget the name..

Family Guy used to crack me up more than it does now. I actually think that their newer stuff is a bit too crude. Seems like they are trying to push the envelope as far as what they can get away with.

I'm by no means a prude, but I enjoy suggestive comedy more so than straight raunchy. It doesn't bother me, I just don't laugh as much when you don't have to read between the lines.

Yeah I can't fuck with Futurama,

don't get me wrong.. I love some Homer, and Mr. Burns.. but then there is Lisa, Marge, Bart.. they all suck.

Where as family guy only has Meg that sucks.

I wasn't a fan of American Dad either but I watched a few episodes and the alien thing Roger and the german fish had me laughing my ass off.

Family Guy > Futurama > American Dad > South Park > Watching Paint Dry > The Simpsons

Simpsons is 20 years old, and I definitely enjoyed it, but I haven't been excited to see it in years

Yes this season is all wide screen with the new opening sequence, love it. Futurama, family guy, american dad as well. There is no one versus the other in me on this issue. Funny people come up with funny things and thats good enough for me :)

Family Guy is ok but it's not The Simpsons and never will be. Watch the South Park episode about Family Guy and you'll realize it's really not that funny.

I love the simpsons but you are right, The Family guy has them beat as far as quick, hard edged adult humor.

The Simpsons might be gone soon, but The Family guy is not going anywhere for a very long time.

The older episodes were good

It sucks now though, has for years. Think the writers ran out of good ideas

I love them all but am definitely not as devout as I once was. Give me a Futurama, Boondocks or Courage the Cowardly Dog marathon, however, and I'm all over it.

Everything has been not been since it used to be.

I watched Family Guy since the first episode but it is starting to really bore me now. It's not funny, they just try to be really offensive. I love offensive comedy but it has to have a point. The episode this past Sunday was the worst yet.

American Dad is actually growing on me and I like more than Family Guy.

The Simpsons is past it's prime but there are still a few good episodes per season. Still probably one of the greatest shows ever made, if not the greatest when you add it all up.

but when Family Guy hits the funny note with it's jokes and good use of timing it is far more entertaining than anything the Simpsons ever did.

When it's funny, it's real funny.

I love the simpsons as well, but just recently I watched a newer season of Family Guy, and then one of the Simpsons.. and I got bored with the simpsons real quick.

It's like they give some of their less interesting characters too much time on the screen (lisa, marge, bart, etc).. Where as family guy only has meg that really isn't funny at all.

I just know when Family Guy hits it on the head, it's way funnier than when the Simpsons does.. and there is far less use of boring characters.

American Dad has been really surprising since I never wanted to like it in the first place, but after watching a season on dvd i'm a fan for sure. Just can't do that with Futurama, although i've seen a couple of funny episodes.. similar to the simpsons in this aspect.

Family guy is not much better right now anyway. Was good first 1-2 maybe even third season but now, meh.

For the first time in its history the Simpsons aired an episode outside of the US yesterday for St. Patricks Day here in Ireland. Was an ok episode but not great great. They are definately slipping.

south park FTW! It's in a leaugue of its own, you cant compare it to all the others...

Futurama. No doubt.
Never found the simpsons or family guy even vaguely amusing.
The humour is too pre-chewed / lowest common denominator for me.

At least futurama goes out on its own, and has great geek appeal.
That said, the last 2 movies sucked - futurama isn't movie format, it's episode format.

What the fuck is with that 5 minutes of Conway fucking Twitty on family guy? That's fast-paced? lolz Family Guy is funny and all, but they do too much filler type stuff, like make a joke way longer than it should be and the Conway Twitty cut. It's like they only have enough real content for a 10 minute show and they stretch it.

I like American Dad better than Family Guy. Seems like they aren't as desperate for filler crap in AD.

I hope the rumors of a new Futurama season are true though. But Southpark, American Dad and even Family Guy will still keep me entertained if not.

If the simpsons actually was like it used to be it would be great.

now days they disregard all facts they've given us about the simpsons in previous episodes and just make up shit. the early simpsons were SMART funny, conan wrote for the simpsons back then.
