What makes your content better than your rivals?

If someone has to explain why their content is better then someone elses, then it's probably no better then anyone elses.

This is a loaded question.

I will just say that i put %110 into every still shot and video shoot i do. My stories are some what interesting and my angles are good. My clients seek me out and i am always working.


Am i the best? Nope. I am very competent and i have a solid reputation for quality and consistency.

I also think some of the other shooters on the boards are really good. I like Deans stuff, i like Jim Guns stuff, I like Aaron M"s stuff and I love Jimmy Lifestyles stuff and personality that he puts into his shoots.


I guess im very fortunate that my clients like my stuff, give me complete creative control on story line and female talent choices and are always giving me work.


Me working a lot in times like this must say something about what im doing. By no means do i think im better than everybody else.:2 cents:

If someone is looking for content, as many are on GFY, they are not going to want to look through the 100 content providers who contact them to see who is best. Same as scripts, designers, programmers and alike.

I am sure everyone has a method, and narrowing it down from Capture to Kandah is the goal.

Wow! Thanks. I love what i do and i really put my time into every shoot. I always stress to myself, if i dont put the time in and do it right, my competition will. That was my thinking when i used to fight professionally and did BJJ tournaments. I would put my time into my training to not get embarrassed in front of my friends and students when i did fight.


I think Ricky D and his Brother Ivan are both good shooters. Then you got Dean Capture with his sick stills!! A combo of Ricky/Ivan/jim Gun/AronM/Jimmy LifeStyles/Dean Capture all rolled up into one guy would suck ass to compete with.lol All those guys all have some exceptional strengths. Not saying they have weaknesses, because they really dont, just that they all have one or two skill sets that blow off the charts.

An example would be AronM's eye when he shoots teen content or Jimmy Lifestyles personality and story-line when he shoots reality. There are some good guy that really excel in there Niches.


Keep in mind, i ate a lot of shit working for some of the top DVD shooters. I really put my time in. I assisted people like Chico Wang and Craven Moorehead for over 2 years.


I also am fortunate enough to compare notes with Jimmy Lifestyles, Bobby Manila, John Strong and Vince Voyeur on a regular basis.



Those are the people and hard work helped me get to where i am today.:thumbsup

If your going to buy content from a guy who says his shit is better then someone elses without actually looking at it first, then you deserve to get screwed when you find out that it actually wasn't better then anyone elses. As I said before, content should speak for itself.

I wouldn't hire a designer to design a site for me because he says he is good...they all say they are good. I'd take a look at his portfolio and see with my own eyes what his stuff looks like. Just because he said he's good....doesn't mean he's good. That's my point. :thumbsup

Speaking as a broker, I'd say it's all about support, and making sure all parties involved are 100% satisfied.

A lot of time people ask for recommendations because they are not going to look at 100 designers, or content providers. So saying, "when they come to me, they will see I am a genius", is not a solid marketing approach IMHO.

But I am not looking to lock horns with you chum. You know your great. People know your great. I was asking a simple question on the difference between one and another. In your case, your reputation, experience, and quality.

Thanks for mentioning me Dave, you are a gentleman and a scholar. I agree that caring a lot about your work and having good techniques, skills, and people around you are all important factors. I personally spend a lot of time casting new talent, especially pretty teens that I get excited about filming and I think that shows in my work. Plus doing other things that make my style unique like picking out colorful outfits & props, lighting with natural light from every angle, executing story lines and other elements that make my scenes stand out. There's two N's in Gunn, btw. :winkwink:

Its not only a matter of being " better " , all content varies in " type " of content and how its marketed and in which platforms. Sometimes shitty amateur content makes more money than high end quality production. It also depends on the traffic driven to sell that content.

It always makes me laugh when people talk about 'shitty content'. If the content is selling well, and even "better than high end productions", then it's pure gold. Far from shit IMHO.

Take into account profit margins, and maybe the bell will go off for many in this industry that we are a BUSINESS. I know for me personally. I am in this industry to make money. Sure, I agree with Jim and others it is nice to take pride in your work. However, Capture, Gunn, Markham all are skilled photographers. I am a business man. You find out what sells, make it for a good price, high margins, and capitalize.

This is about making money. Not fancy pictures. No offense meant to anyone.

That said, I am going to assume you mean, 'low end productions' versus 'shit. :winkwink:

it doesn't have to be better at all. The thing that really matters is how it sells.

Its not about who is better its about sales. Anyways asking who is better doesn't make sense when its all about conversions and sales. Joe Satriani may very well be one of the best guitarist's out there but.... there tons of guys out there that suck at guitar yet sell millions of records. The best guitarists never even go GOLD. While some guys that know three chords sell millions.

Look at the guy who owns exploited teens for instance his content is horrible an yet his site made more money than most of the programs here combined. :2 cents:

I have seen some of the most experienced and well respected producers in this thread make girls look horrible. I tottally agree with Dean don't listen to the people on GFY only look at their work and you be the judge if its worth spending your money on. :2 cents:

If you want to compare shooters find a model 2 shooters both shot and compare the 2 scenes.
Which one is more jerkable? If the girl looks twice as hot and the scene is more jerkable then there you have it.

So many styles, so many models, so many niches. I think it is hard to answer.

But I agree with Jay, if your ROI is better with content from shooter A then it is from shooter B then shooter A is the better shooter for you. But it can easily be the other way around on another site/network.

Feel free to look at our portfolio (see sig) and you will see that we shoot a lot different then others on here.

Content is more the less same everywhere,our service we provide to our customers like free DHL shipping,Free encoding in any format posible,more formats etc etc and all that for free sometimes get us good sales:)

Content is content. Good service is good service.

But...

There is old, new, good, bad, expensive, cheap, amateur, professional, SD, HD, FTP, DVD's, hard drives, encoding, complicated agreements for several media and in several languages and so on.

Giving proper content & legal advise, paying studios the agreed share on time, having after service many years later, thinking along with a buyer to make sure his needs are correct, pro activly suggesting ideas, building a relationship and trust, handling small clients with the same service as big ones, trying to innovate the site & payment methods and buying process non-stop, having a frequent flow of new content from existing studios and adding new ones all the time, exceeding customer expectation instead of dissapointing them, getting the impossible done, always being honest and upfront to people,

That would be my job. And I love it!

It's foolish to think that there is one single "best" content provider out there, because there are so many factors to consider such as the quality of models they bring in, the quality of the product they produce, their pricing, their shooting style, their willingness to work with you the customer, their punctuality in not only giving you the finished product but with keeping you updated on whats going on and if there are any sudden or unexpected occurences, etc. So, I can't try to claim that I'm the best, but I can say that I must be doing something right to have as many of my customers become repeat customers as I do. This is a loaded question, however I have a few things I'd like to say.

Adult content is a matter of preference.:2 cents:

Behind the scenes in the business area is where dedication and good business practices come into play as a trusted content provider.

depends on what you want .. My clientele has stuck with me .. and i keep working. The best is really a matter of opinion ...personally I don't have one .. I like what i do ..therefore I do it well
