One of Michael Douglas's better films of the late 1990's. I had no idea that Sean Penn was in the film and as always a great performance by him. Worth renting.

Plot
----
Nicholas Van Orton is a very wealthy San Francisco banker, but he is an absolute loner, even spending his birthday alone. In the year of his 48th birthday (the age his father committed suicide) his brother Conrad, who has gone long ago and surrendered to addictions of all kinds, suddenly returns and gives Nicholas a card giving him entry to unusual entertainment provided by something called Consumer Recreation Services (CRS). Giving up to curiosity, Nicholas visits CRS and all kinds of weird and bad things start to happen to him.

Definitely an oldie but a goodie!

An oldie!?!?!

I love that movie.. I remember when I saw it I was like 14.. It was one of the first outtings with friends my uptight parents allowed. It was one of the greatest nights of my life.

It was really the first movie I saw that took soo many twists and turns and kept me at the edge of my seat the entire movie.. Never in my wildest dreams could I have expected the story or ending..

It made me aware to the idea of needing to be "Woken up" to appreciate what you have after soo long of having it all..

Definitely one of my top favorites..

very good movie, love it. Michael douglas plays the increasingly paranoid business man like no other can... when id have to rate it it gets at least an 8/10

Always makes me chuckle when someone refers to a movie as an oldie. Its 2 years older than The Matrix, but you never hear people referring to The Matrix as an 'oldie'.

It's good, but its no Falling Down.

As far as The Game goes though I have to agree it was an awesome fucking flick. Romancing the Stone was a pretty decent douglas flick too, and yes, it IS an oldie!

I loved that movie! That´s the perfect roll for Douglas, he seems to be done for that...

Yup, great movie. Excellent twists if you haven't seen it before.
