Cheap Ciggarette shops showing up as referrer in web stats?
 

Anyone else had this before?

I run a web develop forum and I saw this in awstats:

http://www.cheap-24h.com - 7 unique visitors.

I haven't purchased any traffic or whatever, nor can I see a backlink on that site.

Might be a n00b question to some of you, but I've never had this shit before.

its people from the site either navigating to a bookmark to your site, or type in traffic coming from the site

i get a lot of referrers from odd websites i have never heard of before

My forum isn't huge so that wouldn't really explain the 7 uniques too well :(

Its called "referrer spam"
they get traffic by spamming their URL as referrer in your logs. Some awstats have public stats which results in backlinks to their site.
