Just got the email from Verotel - $$$$ gone
 

So like many others all of our DDEU transactions for 2008 are being reversed due to a banking screw up. And yeah it's a fair bit of money.

Dealing with them is like a clash of mindsets. To me it seems if these transactions are in doubt, then all of their transactions are in doubt. One would think they would just take the charge rather then undermine confidence in the whole system.

Well I have learned a new lesson here about this business, just when I think there was little left to be learned.

I've been with Verotel for around 3 years, and they've always done a great job. Having read all of these Verotel-related billing problems on this board for the past few months however, has forced me to remove them from my join page, at least until the news gets better. Fortunately I have not received the dreaded Verotel email (yet?), so maybe it won't effect everyone, but I'd rather not take any chances. I am now 100% CCBill, and I'll probably look into Epoch as a secondary, since that seems to be what most people are recommending.

I think we are getting hit harder than most as I had been using Verotel as a primary on a number of sites. From those I have spoken to running even much larger programs their situation is not as bad as they had Verotel way down their cascade.

It's a pretty serious amount they want to deduct, and this is on top of a $1k yearly Mastercard fee that was already being taken. It's just simply preposterous.

This in itself isn't going to break us, but what I really resent is that I have to worry about my processor becoming insolvent and dealing with that fear. I have a 5 month old baby and I had been hoping to take it easy this spring rather than spend it changing links and worrying about this shit.

I'm hoping they will give us some sort of break but so far other than a deduction of some of the processing fees nothing is in the works.

I've been telling people for a few years to steer clear of them. I used them a few years back and all of a sudden EVERY SINGLE SALE I sent them, they claimed was charged back. Yea right.

They flat out ripped me off and are doing it again to others. Fuckers.
