well, we won a small victory so far in the protest efforts!

Letter from our Assistant Principal:

Dear Parents,
Thank you so much for all of your emails, letters, and phone calls to the Board of Education. Superintendent ABC has decided not to close the Assistant Principal, Elementary Instructional Specialist (my official title) position. However the District is considering reducing the number of AP's.

I don't get all the outrage over this and you being pissed off at the governor....as if it's somehow his fault the real estate market collapsed and California now has like a $42B deficit.

Every extra dollar you get them to put into your kid's school is a dollar they're going to have to take from somewhere else....so you're really not winning anything, you're just shuffling shit around.
You're gonna have one less police officer or one less ER doctor for every asst principal you save.

Yup Arnold spends every penny, and cuts every single check in the state. He also decides personally where the funds go for every single project.

And yea, Arnold is going for the throat on education, but if the school board decided to take the AP position cutback off the roster to vote on, then yes, show me the bridge and thousands of parents will walk over it, probably to their own houses that lost all their value, but also right to the Board of Education offices and protest some more.

I don't waste my time.
even if we don't get full victory, it is the effort of standing up for what you believe in that counts.

If people say you can't win... and they don't even try...well then they FAIL. Can't be a failure if you try your best.

What the hell is an elementary instructional specialist? an elementary school teacher?

Spend money on the parts of the education that actually help the students.. having 2 principals instead of one is not going to help them get a better education..
