On a related note Burpee seeds is posting record sales this year.
Most community gardens are sold out - even at raised rates.
Plus more and more people are ditching their lawns in favor of gardens, unless of course they sold their souls and moved into a gated community with HOA laws that prohibit gardens - let alone in the front yard.

PS - Drought again this year out west and in few other countries, i.e. where the food is grown for most people in the US.

Food isn't really a problem.

It was during the Depression.

You should see all of the legislation in the house and congress right now regarding food. Lots of it tied to the "global warming" scam couple that with the droughts around the world the baltic dry index down 95% and I can easily foresee a food shortage problem.

Is it free or can people possibly reduce their overall expenses by growing some of their own, especially since produce is often one of the biggest cash eaters people buy as it perishes so quickly.
