I can also put a great link and it does this:

Why in the hell do people put there address like this

To avoid being scraped into a spam list.

There are a lot of shitty scripts to scan the pages and collect email addreses for spam :)

Like everyone else said, spam.

But still that doesn't work anymore either, it doesn't take much to write a scraper that matches for those types of keywords and replaces them with the right stuff, that's why I use different techniques such as:

aim/gmail in my sig at googles email services.

thanks for the info, i have put my email on a ton of boards and never get any spam, but then again i do love Gmails spam software and my domain email server is gmail =)

I hate it when sites use the mailto: function. I don't use a standalone program with my email.
