What is a fair commission on web development/design?

For example: A person refers a business that gets a $2000.00 web design/development package.

How much I pay that person that referred the business?

What should I pay if that same person referred five more businesses?

Thanks

I pay 10% to my sales guys who use my leads.

20% if they get the lead on their own.

We give old clients $100 for referring new business, as well.

We always pay 25% and people say it is not enough.

At least he's smart enough to show his face only on the weekends when there's no one here to ban this nick too. :winkwink:

10% if you want to be nice :thumbsup

More if they keep bringing you quality work :thumbsup

Course, 100 bucks would be totally adequate for a design referral :2 cents:

How should I structure a pay scale to a dedicated sales person?

JamesK 03-22-2009 01:26 PM

10-15% works for me

woj 03-22-2009 01:40 PM

10% sounds about right

The numbers I gave above 10% if the leads are supplied and 20% if the lead is generated by the salesperson works quite nicely for us. And that's straight commission, no base salary.
