How does file-sharing on Facebook work? Simply. Anyone who has shared an article or video on Facebook will be familiar with the interface. Users who search for torrent files on The Pirate Bay will now have the option to share the torrent link on their Facebook profile...

Congrats to the Lawyers--defense lawyers. This would make a for a nice fat retainer agreement with supplemental billings that can be stretched several years. :(

Chill out guys... this press release definitly wasn't sent by Facebook, I doubt it will stay avaliable to pirate bay for long, it would loose a lot of corporate market value if so.

papill0n 03-30-2009 10:21 PM

can't see it happening somehow

The good news is.... Once tied to a FB profile, you can track the end-user better, as well as their friends / family / business associates.

torrent =/= copyright infringement

copyright infringement = copyright infringement

hypedough 03-30-2009 11:19 PM

Speculation, I'm sure Facebook will have all users pulled who use this. It's fucking illegal.

Ozarkz 03-30-2009 11:21 PM

All Pirate Bay did was add the 'Share on facebook' button to their website like everyone else.

I noticed this a month ago and have been using it.

True that. For what it's worth at least, guys probably don't want potential girlfriends on facebook seeing that they're sharing porn torrents so... :2 cents:

You need to be careful with your wording here.
Facebook is not doing that. It's the piratebay creating a plugin for the facebook API.

I have my doubts that Facebook will allow that.

Rodent 03-31-2009 02:18 AM

Welcome to last year

Zorgman 03-31-2009 04:00 AM

Rob, I will join you on that fact. I don't want Internet "friends". I want Internet "Power".. im yet to find a site that gives me that. :)

It's not even that. It's a share button put on TPB, just like a digg button.
