Sexmultiplex project has just beaten the top 500 HPC rank
 

Yesterday on peak hours Galaxy Media conducted a load test on the sexmultiplex.com project.
The project total computing performance peaked for 13 TF (Teraflops). According to these results, sexmultiplex.com is the #488 largest supercomputer in the world, or at least has the same computing capability because it's a site and not a supercomputer per se.

Our company expectations are to bring the project to 20 TF sustained processing capability before going live and starting the real monetization of the project. This will bring our computational capability on par with the clusters used to simulate nuclear explosions and weather conditions and bring the network computational power to around 150th most powerful supercomputer build to date, and the most powerful one used for stock exchange simulations.
With that processing capability we will excess the NY, Tokyo and London stock exchange markets (all together) computing capability on taking and processing orders in an order of magnitudes and will be able to simulate the market behavior in sub real time (faster than real time) on at least 2 world stock exchange markets at the same time.

So far, we have saved about 3 million euro in hardware and operating costs. These savings will go much higher on the long run.

The project is scheduled to start doing production stock exchange simulations on 15th October 2009.
