Question for SEO experts
Hi there,
a question for seo experts: If I change the internal URLs (lots of URLs) of my site can I have any troubles with my indexed pages/page rank? Regards |
it all depends if your site is all-ready trusted, or not, to google it would take some times to spider new urls, with page rank you shouldn't have any probem... also it depends on the link stucture www.domain.com/sologirlname/ is way better than www.domain.com/p=252?/ or whatever.. also shorter urls for example domain.com/a/ would be spidered faster than www.domain.com/ieatseofrorbreakfest/ etc.. those are just examples, if you have more questions feel free to ask..

I have normal link structure such as index.php/angelina-nudes-pictures-central-office-by-evas-garden-erotic-effect.html I'm quite hesitant about this change. |
Yes if you have pages listed then a link structure change will hurt you in the listings and it may hurt your PR as well.. Its all interconnected.
|
But it could also help. I would say seriously consider carefully what you are doing and if the changes you make are needed and if they are an improvement, SEO wise that is.
|
If you *do* have to change the URLs, make sure you make forwarders for all of them!
|
not sure, but you could do 301 redirects
|
if you put more links the ranking and page rank might drop but if you lessen up the link i do think things will be better for you.

btw your PR is being splitted all over your pages, why would you need pr on webmaster page? put nofollow tag on link to that page and similar pages , this is also going to help you when you have higher rankings and getting snippets, you link to pages on your site, interlining etc.. |
