Got a new laptop......Dell Mini 9

I absolutely love it!!! A VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY VERY good friend of mine bought me a Mini as a gift and gave it to me at the PHX show. I had been looking at this laptop for a little while and when I was surprised with it I was so ecstatic. This little thing fucking rocks. I am very impressed, but I have never used the Ubuntu OS, so I am still working on figuring out where everything is located so I can set up my Mini the way I like it. I also want to connect it to my phone service with Sprint but don't know what or how to do this. Does anyone else have a mini and use Sprint???

how cute, those little things have caught my attention too. :)

Cool review, Loryn. Netbooks sure look interesting. I'm trying to decide whether to get a Lenovo Ideapad myself.

Nice, I have been meaning to get one and install mac os x on it.

I wouldn't mind picking up one mostly just for traveling. Basically if I'm traveling I'm just keeping up with email and running my submitting program etc. Would beat carrying my macbook along.

My friend works at the Dell HQ in TX he said the Dell Mini 9 is a piece of crap. Also dell is releasing a new netbook on the April 17th. He works at dell and bought an HP Mini, i thought that was funny being that he could of got a discount on a Dell Mini 9 but didnt want it.

I bought me something like that recently too, some Samsung thing.

It's too small, you can hardly work on it unless you use an external monitor.

But it will be useful, since I travel every single week, and with synchronizing both laptops every week I also get a backup.

I only need to find a hassle free way how to synchronize my outlook between these two laptops and that big new phone I'm planning to buy.

I picked one up this past weekend from Craigslist for peanuts. Loaded it up with OSX and am VERY impressed by this little unit.

Netbooks are great for taking off for a day and keeping in touch.

Work great with 3g or gprs if you need net on the go :)

candyflip 04-09-2009 08:45 AM

Loryn, I'm using mine with Sprint...but I just tether to my smartphone. It's pretty quick for email and browsing.

The Dell Mini 9 model can run XP, Windows 7, Ubuntu and OSX with ease.
