I have it since a short while now but have no clue what to do with it.
So far it's been a waste of money.

Nah, upload is 8mbit or so...

Still beats any upload speed i've had so far by a lot.

I wish i had this upload speed when i upload the gigs and gigs of content over the years at fucking 512 or so.

There's nothing like having a new paysite on your home computer and spend the next week uploading it :/

I never download stuff from newsgroups...do they cap the download speed? I'd love to download a 2 gig file at 90mbit just for fun.

My network card is 100mbit haha...

Actually i'm not paying that much either. 80 euros a month. Til last month i paid almost the same for a 20mbit connection through another company.

I wonder how it will be in 5 years from now.

In 10 years from now we will be talking about how we used to download at 20mbit and laugh about it just like we laugh about the bbs and modem days 10 years ago right now. It will be like remember when it took 3 hours to download a movie har har.

No capped download speeds, no download limits, you can load up up to 10 threads with most accounts to make it as fast as possible. I think if you get the best package with SSL encryption you get up to 20 threads. The SSL encryption means that your host and anyone in between has no idea what you're downloading.

And yeah there's gigabit ethernet, you'll need a gigabit switch probably too. I only have a 100mbit router for example, but hookup my nics to the switch so it's not affected by that.

Funny enough i've never really used newsgroups. I know i tried to spam them back in the day and got a warning from my isp right away that they would cut me off if i did it again. Haven't really touched them since.

Tried the speed test but i get time outs...

Also to answer question,cant do much when you have only 8 mibt for upload,so you can use connection only for fast download and backup.Also it will be good if you make a cron which will do offsite backup of your server/websites content so your connection will be fully utilized.

Only 8mbit for upload? That's really fast compared to normal lines.

Well it is good compared with normal lines but still far away from optical connections where speed is symmetric(same upload and download)
