I have one for you...

Go to www.google.com and right click in the search box.

In the context menu, choose "Add a Keyword for this Search"

Now enter what ever you want for the name, and for the keyword, enter 'g'.
Click 'Add' to complete the process.

Now any time you want to do a google search, you can just put:
'g searchterms' into the address bar and it will do the search for you, so you won't need that really big google box in your toolbar anymore.

My pleasure, it works for any search box really.

I have:
g = google.ca
imdb = imdb.com
wiki = wikipedia.org
snopes = snopes.com

And a few others. Makes searching pretty damn fast when I don't have to go to those sites. :thumbsup

Thanks, that is an awesome trick I'd never heard of before. Just added a few more sites I search in regularly.

Nice tip, personally I went to about:config and edited what happens when you type a non url to use Google Search. It's all I use.

Only thing i see there is that if you search of anything under those engines they are mostly likely to show up first in google anyway. i.e imdb for movies or actors, or any topic for wiki
