The fact that there apparently are lots of people who want "Where's Waldo?" to be banned from libraries makes me fear for the future of the human race.

I thought everyone loved Harry Pothead ? :1orglaugh

7. Harry Potter (Series) by J.K. Rowling :(

gandalfuy 04-13-2009 06:47 PM

They want them removed... ?

After Shock Media 04-13-2009 06:50 PM

Couple authors got hit a few times and not for "series" books. Kind of odd.

Mentally healthy people are aware of the fact that the witchcraft described in the book isn't actually real.

Religious people think it's very real, and are afraid of it.

Diezel Jim 04-13-2009 06:53 PM

I thought #23 was by Jefferson Airplane.
:winkwink:

uno 04-13-2009 07:06 PM

I thought Catcher in the Rye would have been top 5.

Agent 488 04-13-2009 07:16 PM

halfwits ............

CDSmith 04-13-2009 07:16 PM

I wouldn't be at all surprised to find that most of those pushing for such censorship are doing so based on some form of religious motivation.

What a pity that such people can't be happy exercising their right to simply not read those books but instead want to prevent anyone and everyone else from enjoying them.

People like that very much sicken me.

tiger 04-13-2009 10:25 PM

Yeah book burning time.

Iron Fist 04-13-2009 10:30 PM

That's religion for ya.... always prohibiting this and that....

charlie3273 04-13-2009 10:44 PM

Yep religion should be kept to ones self . I hate people who like banning shit!:2 cents:

Miguel T 04-13-2009 10:51 PM

Harry Potter?
In 7th place?

Donfoolio 04-13-2009 11:01 PM

52. Brave New World :disgust

Anyone who thinks banning ANY book is fine, thinks so because they can't use reading comprehension in the first place.

onlymovies 04-13-2009 11:07 PM

Shel Silverstein books? Wonder why...

WDG 04-13-2009 11:07 PM

Just say no to censorship.

I'd go as far as to say bookbanning in general is religiously motivated. 100%. I for one would like to see the bible banned from hotels and motels worldwide... :2 cents:

I got a buddy who used to throw out the bible and replace it with a copy of Twilight of the Idols & The Antichrist in just about every hotel he stayed in. :1orglaugh

LOL. It's called "White Rabbit" actually. Oddly enough, I've had that song going through my head for the past few weeks.

I did not count, but it looked like he was the most picked on author (series of a book not included) aside from Twain.

7. Harry Potter (Series) by J.K. Rowling :(

Religious groups believe Harry Potter is an evil influence on your minds, demonic and all that.

NikKay 04-14-2009 05:47 AM

That is a wacky collection. I read a lot of the books listed as a kid, no damage done here! ;)

FrozenJag 04-14-2009 06:37 AM

Thats fucked up, I seen atleast 2 or 3 books we were required to read in school like huckleberry finn and of mice and men. Cooky fucks.

Actually looks like Judy Blume had more books on the list.
