California to ban large HDTVs by 2011? Is this a joke?
i am all for saving energy etc. but that is a ridiculous idea - lol
Another reason not to live in Cali lol. But I like visiting hehe.
LOL. Not going to happen.
If they think they can totally avoid creating new power sources they are delusional... sure, we can make equipment more energy efficient (which we should) but more and more we rely on electricity and the population continues to grow. Power creation needs to grow with it. |
Let them Try !!
They would have to pry it from my cold dead hands
i don't think that will get thru..
Whoever proposed this has obviously never watched transformers Blu Ray on their 65 inch Samsung DLP.
no chance. people will riot lol
Just get a HD Projector.
this shit is getting fucking ridiculous
Doubt it would ever happen. But that's one of the dumbest things I've heard, banning them based on the size. If all they care about is the power large TVs eat up then ban them based on watts.
LED-LCD TVs take up less power than normal LCDs and a lot less than plasmas. They're also better quality than normal LCDs and plasmas too. There's some specs for samsung 46 inch that runs about 140w to 220w and a 55 inch that doesn't take up much more (about 20 watts). |
If they want to start banning TV's they should start with CRTs. Totally idiotic idea if that is true. I doubt it is.
Damn the hippies! Lets focus on things more important like the tribute to underboobage.
40 inches max?
WTF! I guess I will be a TV OUTLAW and drive my TV in from out of state! |
This will never go through.....
Maybe the state of California should spend it's time and effort on improving our energy grid. |
