Silly things that your pets always do...

Pet owners..what are the silly things that your pets are always doing?

My spaniel get really worried when I sneeze. It doesn't matter where I am in the house. If I sneeze by the time my eyes have opened Maggie has her face up in mine with really 'omg are you hurt?!' eyes.

My pug believes that all pillows must die. If a pillow dares to enter the room, Parker will go to whatever extent she has to in order to get that pillow and beat it up and then throw it out of the room. She won't settle down until it is out of the room.

Do your pets have any silly things they always do?

My ferret sits on my lap and licks my wrists when I'm trying to type, if I ignore him he bites me.

Some Guy 04-15-2009 05:35 AM

My dog will walk around with her food or water bowl hanging out of her mouth, even when she's not hungry or thirsty. When you try to take it from her she'll play keep-away and won't let you have it. It's super weird but cute as hell.

I have a miniature schnauzer and she doesn't understand it when she farts. It's absolutely hilarious.

LadyMischief 04-15-2009 05:59 AM

One of my girls is obsessed with balls. If there's multiple balls, she will come to me with three or even four in her mouth at a time wanting to play. She also has a tendancy to go in the yard and find a rock and throw it up in the air and catch it playing with it. i try to tell her no because I'm afraid she'll break a tooth but she's undeterred.

The dogs have a bell on a string in the back, so when they want to go outside, they are trained to ring the bell with their nose. Sometimes I will hear them ring like mad when they've just come in, but we've since learned it means the cat is at the door and wants in. He now has his own personal doordogs :P

He is trying to teach you never to deny a ferret!

My cat very rarely meows. Don't know why but she just never really does it. When she wants fed, she puts her paw on her dish, and drags it about so it makes a noise to grab our attention. When she wants milk, she drags the other dish for drinking with her paw.

It's quite funny for 2 reasons. Reason 1 being that instead of meowing, it's like she can't be bothered so just rattles the dish.

Reason 2 because she actually seems to know what one to rattle whether she wants a drink or not. And the only difference between the 2 dishes for food and water is the colour. Smart cat...

My one dog was the fly assassin. If there was a fly in the house he would not rest until he could catch it. He was relentless and would go for hours chasing the damn fly around. He would treat it like a dangerous predator that must die!

Here he is laying across my legs staring at a fly on the wall. I actually timed it and he didn't move AT ALL for over an hour and a half. He barely blinked!

When I feed my mutt, she doesn't quite eat out of the bowl -- she gets a bit of food in her mouth, runs across the room with it, then puts the food on the ground and THEN eats it. Does this over and over again until the food's done. VERY weird, but cute.

Killswitch - BANNED FOR LIFE 04-15-2009 06:50 AM

My Pit Bull always brings me back limbs of random neighborhood children, it's so funny yet cute.

Abbie 04-15-2009 06:52 AM

My little FEMALE min-pin humps my cats constantly. People who've never seen her do it are like "WTF" ... vet says she is just asserting her dominance. Hehe.

How could you resist that face?

bronco67 04-15-2009 07:37 AM

My Chocolate Lab is the king of quirky behavior...

1. He sleeps in the bathtub sometimes.

2. He's scared to death of hefty garbage bags, even though I've never threatened to put him in one.

3. He demands to go to bed at 9:30 on the dot every night. If I don't go upstairs with him to at least tuck him in and give him a cookie, he'll whine until I do it.

4. He only watches TV if Keeping Up With the Kardashians is on. He's fascinated by the fucking Kardashians.

5. He smokes Camels.

I know, right?

She also has a panty fetish. She loves, loves, loves chewing on a chick's panties. She's wrecked more of my girlfriend's undies than I can count. It's the weirdest thing.

A girl will take her panties off and throw them on the floor when we're doin' it. Six or seven minutes later (har, har) when she goes to put them back on, we'll find my dog laying there by the bed licking them or chewing them.

My dogs used to both curl up in the bottom of my stall shower at my old house. Think they did it because it was cooler for them.

My other one watched hockey.

Neither smoked, made them quit. :pimp

:1orglaugh When my husband farts my pug goes hunting around the room to find out where the sound originated.

Our pop lucca goes nuts whenever she hears a doorbell... we've had her for a few years now since the Katrina rescue... Funniest part, we don't have a doorbell... We assume an old owner had one, but years later, everytime she hears a doorbell on tv she goes nuts at the door...

Tiki bites my big toe. I'm the only one in the family he does this to. My feet are clean, yes. :)

Tom_PM 04-15-2009 11:32 AM

My gf's cat has an oddity. Whenever she refills his water dish, he will ALWAYS and WITHOUT FAIL go over to it, then pick up ONE piece of the dry catfood, and drop it into the new clean water.
Always. Every time.

I've told her that she should record it and put together a video montage, because thats freakin weird! lol

Reason 3 - she totally knows how to play her human :)

My last cat could stare at a spider on the wall for hours. Made me think we weren't all that entertaining for her.

FrozenJag 04-16-2009 07:31 AM

If I hear my cat in the other room where his litter box is, scraping around then he is taking a dump.

Then afterwards he sprints across the living room happy as hell. :1orglaugh Happens like clockwork.

My female pitbull is very "humanized" and if she gets annoyed or is tired and lays down she'll sigh super loud or really quietly lick her lips when she is really comfortable.

OH.. lol! For some reason probably every other night or so if she is sleeping really hard she will dream she is nursing and her tongue will be hanging out like just a half inch. Its hilarious. I got a pic somewhere of me waking her up while she is doing it, so her eyes are open but her tongue is still sticking out. Kinda funny. I'll post it if I get time.

cherrylula 04-16-2009 07:59 AM

my male mini pin will not sleep unless he is covered completely in a blanket. I have the dogs sleeping on the other side of the house now, because he gets the blanket all twisted up and then stands there and barks til one of us comes and fixes it, sooo annoying. He will do this in the middle of summer in 100 degree weather even.

the funniest is when he scoops the blanket over his head, and then tries to get positioned, and ends up walking into things. I'll hear him in the next room making a bunch of noise.

GothBuXXX 04-16-2009 08:08 AM

My cat Pixel, will always know over his water dish just a little to spill water on the floor...then try to bury that water...after which he starts to drink. Sometimes he will also knock and pull the water dish. So I come home and find the water dish in the middle of the room.

That is one of many :)

Had a parrot once who made friends with a bunch of little baby ducks and they were quacking like crazy

justinsain 04-16-2009 09:14 AM

My Golden is always inventing some new game to get me to play :)

His newest creation is taking a tennis ball and seeing how deep he can stuff it into my sleeper sofa. The longer it takes me to come over and play the deeper the ball goes. To get really in there he will push all the cushions aside and shove it into the metal frame around the mattress. He especially likes to stick it in the corner.

Once he had it so far in there when I tried to pull it out, which he wants me to do, I got my hand stuck in the metal frame. It actually took me a few minutes to get my hand back in the right position to pull out. I didn't have a phone nearby and was thinking about how long I would be stuck there and how I would explain my predicament to 911 but I stayed calm and finally got it out :upsidedow

my maltese is pretty funny. he's obsessed with pillows. he makes a fort with my pillows. its too cute. he pushes the pillows with his head. he lies in there. the other thing he does, if the merchants in my area have their door open, he goes in and says hi, goes right behind the counter and comes back out.

Haha! Yeah mind does that usually too. Goes into the litter box calmly, does the dump, then leaps out and runs around the house for 10mins. :1orglaugh

It also always does the dump at the back of the box, and a piss at the front end. Weird!

That is part of what my pug does too. I think it is a scenting thing because the pillows must smell like us.
