Why do people watch these stupid shows on The History Channel?
Like Monster Quest or UFO Hunters? Every show is the same, all fluff, no substance and never ever any evidence whatsoever. It's like watching softcore porn. pffff
|
It's interesting to the people that want to believe...
|
Hey, the Monster Quest about the monster squid was awesome :)
|
gives them something to talk about
|
You watch because the 1 time you miss the show will be the time that they actually find the monster or the alien.
|
its sad that History and Discovery is taking the same path as MTV did sometime ago - away from their subjects
|
I watched Predator X the other day on HC and it was very interesting and for sure "HISTORY".
Love their shows. |
i love those shows :)

I guess every channel has its good and bad programs. Some more than others. :Oh crap |
How do you KNOW every show is always the same unless you are watching them yourself? lol
|
I wonder that too... I'll catch myself watching these shows at times and the narrator will build up suspense and I will sit through a commercial but deep inside I know that they aren't going to solve anything because I would have heard of it by now. :)
I love Modern Marvels. That show kicks ass. |
because they have no life and don't have anything better to do
|
I don't like the history channel, it sucks and is boring.

Most of the responses in this thread are pretty ignorant, as usual, but the OP is right about UFO Hunters being all fluff and having no substance. If you are someone who truly wants to learn about Ufology then the UFO Hunters show is nothing more than a distraction and waste of time.
The History Channel doing UFO documentaries is kind of the same as Fox News having Glenn Beck act like he's leading the truth movement. lol |
The only show I watch now is Desperate Housewives. It is the best. I watch 2 hours of it everyday! (recorded on my dvr).
|
The History Channel has a lot of good shows- about history! Those two you named are not among them. But I have been enjoying Battles BC, Warriors, Predator X, The Universe and especially How The Earth Was Made. All great fact-based shows that are really well done.

I just don't get how people can sit around watching a bunch of actors all day. |
eerr... what?

I'd rather watch that than Golf or Baseball

What I really don't get is why people watch sitcoms, I think that is even more pointless. |
My favourite show on History Channel these days is the one where they go under old cities into their underbellies to look at buried ruins, old sewer systems, bunkers, etc. Very cool stuff.

regarding the original topic, I think that the two shows mentioned, Monster Quest and UFO Hunters are not a good example of the channel's offering. I agree, those two shows are crap, but the rest of History Channel's lineup is very interesting to me. |

yeah those shows suck, but every once in a while a good show comes on
|
I'd watch Trueblood than that. lol
