It's cool but do stoners really need a holiday. I mean smoke all you want but don't make it your personality or bind to smoking pot like its some truth from jah. Just smoke it and stfu.

Pot fags that are way into showing it off remind me of the homosexuals that actually garner their psuedo-identity from being gay.

bufferover 04-20-2009 05:17 PM

Legalize it :rasta

You're right, it's ridiculous a lot of the time and doesn't need a holiday...

But I hate when people criticize and then go to a wine tasting or something. Exact same thing as loving weed and bragging about getting good stuff.

While I don't agree with your choice of words, I do agree with you... However, no one is running around bragging that they are a coffee drinker or take aspirin.

If you smoke pot, you are a criminal and part of a counterculture.
Hopefully that will change and no one will give a shit.

Go start a starbucks thread and see what happens. They just have legal marketing but everyone gets to see it everyday watching people with those cups everywhere. We will not even go into their own culture and verbage.

Bad comparison... it's NOTHING compared to aspirin first off... and people DO enthusiastically drink and brag about GOOD coffee.

Like I said above, it's more comparable to wine.

stickyfingerz 04-20-2009 09:45 PM

Its 11:45 here and I haven't lit up yet WTF have 15 mins to make it within the 4/20 timeframe... Runs to get.... :1orglaugh

It's not about the average pothead it's about people who need marijuana to deal with health issues.

Something needs to be done for these people.

Also their is a "holiday" for Marijuana because someone started the tradition. If someone wanted to start the tradition for the coffee bean than you'd have a day to appreciate the coffee bean..

You mean something like say September 29th?
I also think Starbucks tried to start an additional coffee break day since already having a coffee day (9/29) was not enough for the bean.

SleazyDream 04-20-2009 11:33 PM

I'm not a big fan of pot, doesn't do much for me. But honestly, I think it should be legalized. it's non-violent and a HUGE waste of government resourses imprisoning people for pot when we could be making money from it by taxing it.

$5 submissions 04-21-2009 01:23 AM

Most, if not all, of the dangers and crime associated with pot arises from its status as a prohibited drug. Bill Buckley was right--legalize it.

I agree its the same as wine tasting except we have to do it under the radar and plus theres nothing better than some lovely smelling green.

ExLust 04-21-2009 06:16 AM

Hahaha, that's cool.

Sausage 04-21-2009 06:21 AM

Hope they keep it illegal except for medicinal purposes.

Got a cousin and a brother both totally fucked up on Pot. They are an absolute mess, and can't function without their many hits a day. Brother in particular is bad, if for some reason he cant get any he is actually quite dangerous to be around and can get really violent. Sure it doesn't affect all people that way but know too many fucked up on the stuff. The stuff we get today is nothing like the stuff they smoked in the 60's.

OldJeff 04-21-2009 06:25 AM

It will not be legalized, it should be, but they cannot effectively control the supply since it is so easy to grow, since th government can not control the supply, they can not effectively tax it.

The root of every government issue is the cost.

Reason for pot being illegal, cannot be taxed efficiently
No Gay Marraige - no need to pay survivor social Security benifits

Pick a topic, looks closely, and ask, can the government profit from it, if the answer is yes, ity will likely happen, if the answer is no, they will come up with every reason in the book to make sure it does not happen.

Pleasurepays 04-21-2009 07:37 AM

the simple fact that it took a bunch of stoners this long to figure out that you can't reach the mainstream population without putting a mainstream face on your movement is proof enough to me that pot shouldn't be smoked by anyone. they have always been their own worst enemy in the quest to legalize it.

Ever see someone get pissed off if they couldn't get their coffee or cigs, or alcohol? So because a few people are retarded and can't handle weed we all should suffer? Tis silly.

NY state is once again sending up a bill to allow dispensing of medical marijuana, or to allow growing it themselves such as other states have. Every time it's been sent to the state senate in the past, it's been struck down. But this time is the first time it's been sent up when the Democrats control the state senate. Interesting to see if it passes this time.

I have a feeling your brother/cousin were most likely losers or low lives before they started smoking pot. That's just genetics. Don't blame the pot :2 cents:

This wasn't ment to be a slam against you. It's just the way it turns out to be most the time.

Matyko 04-21-2009 09:27 AM

Very Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice!!!

Tom_PM 04-21-2009 09:37 AM

The stuff "they" smoked in the 60's.. just think if it was in a field like corn and pollinating randomly and almost completely. Then just whack it all down with a big sickle and crush it into as small a cube as you can. Then let it sit for 6 months to 2 yrs in darkness then smoke it. It'll be just like the 60's for ya. Crackling with seeds and tasting like seed oil even when you manage to get them all out, lmao.

HookUPcom 04-21-2009 09:43 AM

I've changed my mind... It should be illegal because it is against the law... We should increase the penalties and start building more prisons to lock away more, dads, moms, kids, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, teachers, bartenders, or anyone else that ever tries it, or smokes regularly. Whether they be rich or poor. CEO's or unemployed. It's up to us to put them in jail now and rid the world of this Evil.

It is against the law and we should support the law, not question, challenge or try to change it!

I thank the few of you that helped clarify this for me.
I have been saved! ;)

I am sorry many of the people you know will be going to jail, but they deserve it.

Same could be said of alcohol or even tobacco. With tobacco, again it is just a plant and although you will not be producing Marlboro quality cigarettes you still will have tobacco that can be smoked, chewed, etc. without tax. Most Alcohol can also be easily made at home. We can already see that with how much the whole micro brew culture has grown.

A more valid reason as to why it will not be would be the loss of budgets and income for keeping it illegal. From prisons all the way to grants given to small towns. The sheer number of assorted budgets it has to while it is illegal is mind boggling, and the number it employs is also super large.
