Update: ThePirateBay Trial

Ok according to the Swedish newspaper "Aftonbladet" it seems like the judge in the trial had some personal relations to the recordlabel companys and other stuff so there is a chance they will have to either remove the sentence or redo the whole trial again.

:winkwink:

Well this was not a regular trial. It is clear for everyone that judges were ?influenced? by Hollywood lobbying groups. Judge in question should be punished as hard as possible. This can?t be tolerated in a civilized country. This is not Iran or USA?

you didn't see this comming, they procecution botched the case completely, could even prove that pirate bays trackers were even connected to during the recorded offending transactions

and they still won the case.

should have been a giant red flag that something was wrong.

No wonder TPB doesn't give a crap when they've got a laughing stock for a judicial system...

A defense lawyer in the Pirate Bay file-sharing case said Thursday he will demand a retrial after the judge admitted he was a member of copyright-protection organizations.
Quote:

Mr. Althin said that constituted a conflict of interest, especially considering that three people who represented the entertainment industry during the trial also held membership in one of the organizations.

"This is completely new to me. It is reasonable that we should have known about this before," Mr. Althin said. "It is a clear case of bias."
