Goodbye Pontiac, farewell
:thumbsup:thumbsup:thumbsup
http://money.cnn.com/2009/04/24/auto...ion=2009042414 General Motors is preparing to announce that the Pontiac car brand, once marketed as GM's "Excitement division," will be killed off, according to a source familiar with the decision. |
I blame that gay bath house on wheels, the Pontiac Solstice. I would ditch Buick before Pontiac

Bad move if you ask me. |
Damn, that's terrible to hear, my first car was a 1968 Pontiac GTO, one bad ass car. wish I would have kept it, sold it for $100 before leaving for college in 1977
|
would like to have seen pontiac make it back with some kick ass cars
|
the solstice was hot
|
Thats a huge fucking mistake!
Unless they are losing money in the production of them. I see pontiacs everywhere and the solstice is an excellent car. Why not get rid of saab and hummer? they are both terrible for sales.... |

PONTIAC - Poor Old N**ga Thinks Its A Cadillac

If the cars weren't pieces of shit they would still be around. The US needs to make better cars to be competitive. On Fox (or maybe CNN) a lobbyist for the automakers was trying to rally people to buy American, without giving a reason why besides "support America".
Build better cars. |
Four years ago we leased a pair of Pontiac Pursuits (later renamed to G5 and Cobalt under different divisions). They were supposed to replace the Pontiac Sunfire line.
We could write a lengthy novel on the endless troubles we've had with both vehicles. I've spoken with a lot of other Pursuit/G5 owners in the past few years and nearly every one told similiar stories of woe. The main complaint has been a major rattle in the front end which GM never found a permanent solution for. The G6 series also had similiar poor workmanship - again, with front end rattles. We ain't sorry to see Pontiac die off. Shit cars. Its turned us off GM products altogether. |
I had a few Trans ams back in the day.I liked them

http://www.mikeyddddd.com/gfy/images...king-sense.gif Making decisions like this is why GM has problems. |
Didn't they just get a huge bail out?

Biggest mistake was renaming the Grand Am the G6. The Grand Am was their bread and butter car. It was like if Honda renamed the Accord or Toyota changed the name of the Camry. Not sure what the thinking behind that was.
|
It is bad :(
|
Does Tiger still advertise for Buick? Maybe that's why they aren't messing with Buick...I dunno, beats me. Buick hasn't been shit in eons.

drugs, terror, poverty...etc, etc are not "real" wars they are only something to distract you from the real problems....just go down to your local retirement home and ask someone in their 90?s what they had to endure during the ?great depression? and WW2.....soup lines and ration books from food to gas....... That was when people actually felt proud to "Buy American"....now it is merely a talking point of a sound byte from a talking head..... http://www.philbrick-genealogy.org/M...k_4_-_Carl.jpg |
by the way....come to Florida......and you will find out why Buick is still going to be around....9/10 geriatrics who cant afford Cadillac’s or don’t want to be too "flashy" buy that GM nameplate. Now since everyone’s credit is in the shitter the last remaining folks that can afford to buy and not just solely on credit are the q-tips.
and they have what GM needs most right now brand loyalty. |
Pontiac had some fine models
