Is e-mail marketing in adult basically dead?
 

I am talking legit double opt-in e-mail collection on a site and sending newsletters. You rarely see programs promoting e-mail collection panels in their program? I rarely see site owners collecting addresses off their join pages as well. Is this marketing method dead? If so, why? Mail not getting delivered to customers on the lists?

Might find most spam filters block that shit now. Maybe 10-30% get though.

Of course you can get better delivery but it is going to cost you paper one way or another.

Please expand. You mean by using some sort of Bonded Sender provider to send out the mail for you?

opt-in is still great. spam is bad...

AFF *kills* on their opt-in. Most of the adult dating sites seem to hammer their lists. They wouldn't be doing it if it weren't mad bank.

Not if you give specific instructions on helping the user white list your emails so they don't go to the spam folder.

I don't think your mail program like (windows mail etc) are smart enought to know the difference between optin and spam. They just filter.

I have 600 clients and the last email I sent out only got to 400 clients. The rest I asume blocked it by spam filter.

According to my Gmail spam folder I still see a lot of porn spam, but I'm glad I don't see it since Google filters it for me 99.9% of the time

gmail filters are awesome, I'm not sure how they work, but Im pretty sure if I sent an email to you now "want to trade with your site sexysluts.com" and a matching e-mail body, it WOULDN'T get filtered by gmail, even though it would be filtered by most of the other filters

howerver, the real spam, indeed almost never makes it to the gmail inbox

Opt in is not at all dead..just fiercely competitive and people don't talk about it too loudly.
