DJ Quik or a Hard Rock band for upcoming shows - need sponsors to step up - c'mon!
 

Well, we have some great things in the works. DJ Quik cut his price for us if we do the XBiz show. We might do that poolside. We also have a a venue if we decide to do a rock band, the Penthouse Club in Vegas. We're looking into Steel Panther or Sin City Sinners (another hard rock cover band like Steel Panther).

We're also doing a show for Cybernet, we have some rock band options for that as well. Maybe even a comedy night.

But man, it's hard as hell to get sponsors these days. If you like events like Rock The Ball or the Players Ball, then hit up some potential sponsors and have them hit me up, or step up and get yourself a sponsorship. Parties happen because sponsors pay the costs. In return, sponsors get great exposure for the dollar.

Like every industry, our industry is hurting. People aren't making what they used to. The first thing people seem to cut back on is trade shows and webmaster advertising. I've lowered our pricing and have cheaper deals secured with venues and artists, hoping that the few people who do want this exposure will give it a shot. There's always another "up and coming" company that wants this but doesn't know it's available unless I post about it. And the existing companies might have a new program to launch, this is a great way to get it seen infront of a trade show crowd.

ROI is hard to measure on parties and trade shows. Branding helps perception, this is why people do it. If you see someone is marketing all over the place, you assume they're kicking ass. When you sponsor a Players Ball or Rock The Ball, we provide the biggest party of the trade show, usually with about 80% of all attendees under one roof. Having an opportunity for all of those eyeballs to see your companies URL/Logo on big screens, talked about on the mic and marketed on the website and newsletter, seen on the passes which are issued to EVERY trade show attendee is pretty good branding.

Anyway, thanks for the opportunity to better explain why this is a good deal for the dollar.

Rock the Ball was a seriously cool event last year at Cybernet Expo... so I have absolutely ZERO doubt that there is great value in sponsoring a D$ concert/event. We packed the Red Devil Lounge, and I got I'd say 99% positive feedback from attendees. Everyone dug the band, and it rated very highly on our post show survey of attendees.

The earlier you jump on as a sponsor, the more promo you get... and the more active you are, meaning if you attend the event yourself, ask people if they had a good time, remind them who made it possible, etc, the better. There's a reason why there are certain companies in this business that you know and know well, and it's not because they hid their brand names and backed off of marketing themselves. When you sponsor a Players Ball or Rock the Ball, you get access to opportunities and relationships that you probably won't get if you're in the shadows.

So definitely hit up D$ if you are even considering it and talk to him, see where it leads. There's some serious market share to be had for companies who take it while others are scaling back.
