Swine flu crissis?? WTF??

What the FUCK is wrong with the media in the US (not just the US).. They're calling it a crissis?? NO ONE has even fucking died yet in the US... Whoever runs and owns those companies should be lined up and shot by the public in mass for creating panic and news instead of just fucking reporting it.

Intrinsic 04-28-2009 04:43 PM

some people are saying the medias hiding how bad it is so it doesn't cause mass panic :Oh crap

Of course some people would.. because they're morons.. This thing is so new that no one has a clue yet.. We've seen this before but people have their head so far up their ass it's cut off their airflow to the point they're delusional.. In a week or two, THEN we'll really know what the extent of it is.

Seth_CowStream 04-28-2009 04:53 PM

For the last few weeks it was the Somali pirates. For the next few weeks it'll be the swine flu. What's next? Global warming? Oh wait they already did that one.

Pss. Pirating has been rampant since the 80's. Just most was not off the coast of Somalia and instead in other area's. For the most part the shipping companies did not want the coverage as they also do not really want some quasi police involvement.

I will skip over climate change as that issue is insanity to even speak about around here.

As for this flu, I do not see it as anyone causing panic. People have access to news outlets other than TV and trust me they are getting more than panicked by emails and other "iffy" news sources. The CDC also knows it can not contain it and just do its best to educate people about it.

Big whoop... I don't know what the current numbers are but something like 50 people are murdered a day in the USA.. No one has died from this other than in mexico so far and that's about 103 over TWO MONTHS.

yo brainiac.

the CDC has raised this to alert level 4, level 5 is widespread human infection.

waiting 2 weeks is irresponsible and potentially catastrophic, a pandemic could cost trillions of dollars, anyone who has a brain knows this.

I also thought at least 2 have died in California already.

Wrong.. that's "suspected".. They fucking thought the guy that met Obama died of it and that turned out to be wrong.

You've already proven in other threads you're a moron..

What has that got to do with ANYTHING I've said? Waiting 2 weeks for what. Fuck.. Can you understand the actual words that you or anyone else writes? I said we'd know the true state of things in 1-2 weeks and that it was far too early for the media or anyone else to be fucking panicking and calling this a crissis... No where.. no where have I said anything about taking preventative measures to ensure it doesn't spread.. You're a fucking retard..

why don't you take a 3 day trip to Mexico city and hang out with these "suspected" sick people then come back and tell us all how you feel..

This shit is real and if the media and gov don't alert us about it then there will be 1,000's of "suspected" cases of this shit if they just do nothing and say it's not that bad right now

The Los Angeles County coroner's office is investigating two recent deaths that officials say could be related to the recent global swine flu outbreak. However, no tests have come back positive for the swine flu, and medical examiners have not officially determined what caused the deaths.

[Updated at 2:08 p.m.: The L.A. coroner's office said this afternoon that further testing indicated neither of two flu-related deaths being investigated in Los Angeles County appeared to be linked to the swine flu.

You do realize flu epidemics in just the past 100 years have killed nearly 60 million people, don't you? In 1918 the Spanish flu killed close to 50 million, if the same thing happened today (and it very well could) that number would be over 200 million. So yea, it could very well turn into a fucking crisis.

lofasz 04-28-2009 06:31 PM

109 people die each and every day from car crashes, is there a car epidemic - NO. We give the loser car companies our tax dollars. Maybe we should go bail out the swine too.

The only credible media company left on the planet is LFP - naked pussy doesn't lie.

A crisis, No - a blessing. Life is cheap, because there's about 3 billion useless life units too many in the herd.

shwsrvcs 04-28-2009 06:44 PM

I want bacon right now!!!!!

Si 04-28-2009 06:55 PM

Stop fucking hyping this shit up!
If you get it, you COULD die simple as that.
Same as aids, cancer and fuck knows how many things about these days.

What happened to bird flu? they were on about that for months, and now you hear fuck all about it.

If it happens, then thats life.

lacuna 04-28-2009 07:07 PM

Chicken little is always running around saying the sky is falling. The thing is, one of these days it really will fall. The flu is viral, so antibiotics are worthless. Vaccines take forever to develop. A good case of the Spanish Flu -- given the speed at which we traverse the globe -- would cut a wide swath through humanity.

So is this "The End"? Probably not. Just more media hype. Sellin' papers and advertising.

Damn, what ever happened to West Nile?

Furious_Male 04-28-2009 07:11 PM

I understand that this is a virus that is evolving and should warrant concern and caution. At the same time I also realize people die every year from influenza.

The elderly, very young, and those with compromised immune systems need to be very careful. As far as the deaths in Mexico I am curious what type of living conditions those people were in.

dyna mo 04-28-2009 07:38 PM

you need to relax and not let the media or people get to you, as you grow older and mature you will learn this.

in the meantime, it sounds like you need a vacation, i suggest mexico.

eroticsexxx 04-28-2009 07:57 PM

Maybe, just maybe, they know something that the rest of us 'average folk' do not.

Caution at this time, due to the ease of global travel, is wise and necessary.

It's better that they react, report and warn now (and it be considered overkill) than for persons to exclaim at the end of next month that someone should have said something.

Don't get pissed or upset. Just pay attention and be wary.

I've seen this thing travel to a few places (developing nations) that the US media hasn't reported yet. In these third world countries, persons would be wiped out en masse if the WHO hadn't already told them to quarantine and monitor the exposed. Not every place on this globe has first-world hospitals and medicine.

Health networks globally are communicating on a continuous basis. That alone makes me wonder what's really going on in the background.

Different season. Typically we do not have summer flu issues - wait several months and you will hear of it again. Of course there are people who are working on it and live around it everyday. that just happens to be their job.

Also still with us and hits at times when Mosquito's are most commonly breeding. Get numerous cases in CA at least each year. Perhaps you may have noticed they are mentioning the pools at foreclosed properties every so often, curious as to why? Or perhaps why we as a country are actually releasing a fish type that is not to cool for our waterways, hoping they stay in those same pools.

And as you get even older you'll realize everyone needs to let of some steam once and awhile.

It is just not today's flavor, nothing new - no buzz.
Same goes with today's current version of staff infections. Fuckers are getting highly resistant to even the super antibiotics.

Onto other news: People need to be bitch slapped for using all the anti bacterial crap on the market, especially since the majority of fucking people do not even know how to wash their hands properly in the first place and spraying this shit everywhere haphazard is not helping the matters any at all.

Moses G 04-28-2009 11:32 PM

im looking forward to the killer hornets this summer.

iwantchixx 04-28-2009 11:39 PM

there's proof to show this is a man-made virus of combined strains of the flu virus.... the threat for this virus is enormous.. there's good reason to make a huge issue out of it... if nothing is done about it something terrible would happen.. if nobody was warned.. ppl would cry "why did nobody warn us?"

Billionaire 04-28-2009 11:56 PM

I would just be thankfull that it is a 1 and not a 5.

OK then, please show your proof.
Unless by man made you mean us just haphazardly using antibiotics wherever.

Socks 04-29-2009 12:15 AM

tempest, I hope you didn't mean to imply that this isn't an important issue because only Mexicans have died.
