STAR TREK - Best Movie is Years

This movie completely exceeded my expectations. I saw it on Wednesday over at the Paramount Lot. If you like sci-fi at all this is a must see.

I think this will go down as one of the best sci-fi movies ever. The new cast nails it. McCoy is the standout and he has a huge part in the movie. The special effects are the best I have ever seen, and they do not overpower the film. Kirk gets the shit kicked out of several times.

And the USS KELVIN is named after one of my close friends (Kelvin Mao) who is a software programmer :)

Can't wait for it to arrive to Portugal.

just google shatner snub for lots of links.

Without Shatner there is no star trek. Try doing Jaws without the shark. Same thing. If trekkies don't stay home, its because Shatner scolded them on saturday night live 20 years ago. so they moved on to galaxy quest.

And again, very few if any are going to boycott this movie. Period.

"The apparent snub came after Shatner complained he hadn't been cast in the film by director J.J. Abrams, despite Nimoy being featured in a scene in which the old Spock comes from the future to visit his younger self, the newspaper said. Abrams had reportedly said at one point he would try to get Shatner involved in a cameo, but was worried the script wouldn't support it. Shatner, 78, never was cast."

Doesn't seem like such a big deal to me. Boo hoo, maybe they'll work him into the next movie, which is already on the table pending the success of this one.
