I only noticed because i was checking my rank on google for keywords on my sites and the twitter page for it came up underneath it which was pretty good.

Twitter nofollows links both in profile and tweeted, so not sure how much link juice you'll be passing.

My freebie site Twitter account, which is the only one I'm really giving a crap about right now, is a PR2 and will probably be moving up soon as I've only been aggressive with it the past couple weeks.

You do realize PR is important for more than just passing it, right? Ideally from an SEO standpoint, you don't just want 1 entry in page 1 of Google - you'd want THEM ALL if you could get them, and especially at least for your company name. That's why people make such a big deal about sites like Squidoo and Hubpages for SEO - and more about them ranking high in SE's than simply getting another inbound link to your site.

All SEO efforts are for one thing: to get organic traffic, and a Twitter account will do that from quality followers and from being in search and people going to your site after going to the Twitter account page. So it's not worthless at all to consider the PR of the Twitter account page - just worthless to consider whatever link juice you may be passing. :winkwink:

Most of mine are just a couple of months old and still PR 0, but I have several that are PR 1 and a couple that are PR2

adonthenet 05-04-2009 01:50 PM

yes but thats not the point I was trying to make.

My twitter account is underneath my website in the serps for the same keyword.

So someone searches for the keyword, my site comes up and directly underneath it is my twitter account for that website.

more traffic :thumbsup
