I do not think you put cream in tea -- I think that is for coffee only.

OK perhaps milk.
Fairly sure it is pretty common though.

LiveDose 05-04-2009 07:01 PM

Don't they put milk in their tea in the UK?

Pretty damn certain they do, my great grandmother always did and thats where she was from.
Though I did technically say cream the first time.

abyss_al 05-04-2009 07:03 PM

Max Potential 05-04-2009 07:04 PM

mmmm sounds delicious...

d-null 05-04-2009 07:15 PM

cream goes great in tea, although I rarely drink it that way, cantonese milk tea is sweetened whole milk shaken with ice and tea and it is awesome

puerh tea is my new favorite, it is like the espresso of teas, wickedly strong and good, connoisseur stuff :thumbsup

Earl Grey rocks. No cream, no sugar, no lemon. Just the tea.

Deej 05-04-2009 08:16 PM

earl grey is awesome, though i dont think you do milk with earl grey... not commonly...

I thought milk was odd in tea until I had some of this english tea... Amazing with a dash of milk.

DateDoc 05-04-2009 08:18 PM

Drinking an Undercover Investigation Shut-Down Ale from Lagunitas myself. Good stuff. Maybe tea another day!

Milk in tea is pretty much a requirement in the UK. It took me years to try it but it is actually pretty nice.

Incidentally, it is my theory that the reason that iced tea has never taken off in the UK because most British people have milk in their tea and therefore envision cold milky tea. Which, does sound yuck.

John-ACWM 05-05-2009 06:29 AM

I'll have an Earl Grey for the team :winkwink:

CDSmith 05-05-2009 07:23 AM

I'm on a green tea kick right now. No caffeine.

Green tea has caffeine unless you are on the decaf kind. I pretty much live on homemade green iced tea these days.

There is no caffeine in the green tea I drink. Which is why I said "no caffeine" in my post.

Didn't mean to suggest all green teas are caffeine free.

Yes, milk in tea in UK - some people get very fussy, should you warm the pot first, should you put the tea in before or after the milk etc,etc...it's just a drink :thumbsup

kmanrox 05-10-2009 01:15 AM

i love me some earl grey tea with breakfast.. in thailand they dont pronounce the R so its Ehl Gay Tea

yummy nonetheless

red-xxx 05-10-2009 01:16 AM

Ps, if you're ever in Cornwall try a Cornish Cream Tea, Cornish clotted cream is heavenly.

markethustler 05-11-2009 11:31 AM

Ah, it's about time for a cup. Thanks for the reminder!

dready 05-11-2009 01:14 PM

Earl Grey every morning with a little milk. Lately it's been a lovely loose leaf creamed (vanilla) Earl Grey.

adonthenet 05-11-2009 01:18 PM

Earl Grey is good and getting lots of responses :)
