Let's Talk Battle Scars
 

I have to admit I have got through almost 38 years in this world with relatively few injuries. To be honest for most active guys it is amazing to me that more of us don't die young. From risky physical activities, to being reckless, to growing up in urban environments it is amazing that many times close calls are just that, close calls.

So I have only had 1 hospital stay for a bad bike wreck. I've been sliced with box cutters 3 times, stabbed once and had my nose fractured. No broken bones!

Let's hear some real stories. If you're going to make shit up at least make it ridiculous so that we know you are full of shit...

Here we go, this should be interesting... I know some of you have stories to tell...

I got into a fight with a bong.. the bong won...

I have a 4 inch scar next to my elbow...

In college I always let the bong win... Why fight it?

Oh god, broken nose multiple times, and broken right hand about 6 times. Other than that I've been pretty lucky.

If I include BJJ class and training, then cracked ribs, hyper-extended elbow, inflamed ACL, inflamed MCL, sprained ankle.

Broken fingers
Broken Femur with impact wound and then surgery for Femoral rod insertion.

I own a cat.
I tried to bathe it once...

Oh, and fell from a bike into the field of stinging nettles when I was a kid.
But if I get to choose, I'd take that over bathing a cat...

I have a wicked scar on the right side of my head that runs from the top of my head and continues down to my ear and continues down the back of my ear. I wear my hair high and tight so you can always see it

I had a hedgehog, some vaseline, and a itchy anus....
I don't itch no more... just shit swiss pancakes

On a school camping trip in the 7th grade I was running through the woods in the dark and ran into a tree and knocked myself out. When I fell I cut right under my right eyebrow on a rock and came real close to putting out my eyeball.

I have dislocated my shoulder getting thrown from a horse.

Had my nose broke when I was standing behind a pissed off friend that decided to punch a wall and I caught his elbow.

Had my lip split catching a punch walking into a room at a party while a fight was in progress between 2 guys.

Thats just to name a few.

Ok I was 19 years old with a fake id and in a sports bar in Rochester NY. For some reason people were armwrestling for money. I decided to get into the action.

I ended up beating 3 guys @ $20 each and was exhausted. My arm was going to explode and clearly my Hulk-buzz wore off. Defeat was inevitable. The guy was smack-talking me and I was about to lose. So I made a real bitch move and thrusted the guys hand (connected to mine) into his mouth/nose area. He stood up grabbed a Budweiser bottle and smashed it into the top corner of head.

Ok this isn't the end......

After my friends shuffled me out of the bar, and I was covered in blood, we got in a car and went home; debating whether or not a trip to the hospital was in order. The bleeding on my head was not slowing down.

I envisioned a scene from Rambo III in my head, where he poured gunpowder in his wound, lit it, forcing the wound to cauterize. So here was the million dollar plan : I heated up a metal spoon on my stove and forced it against my head thinking I could stop the bleeding that way.

The pain It caused was intense. The smell of burning flesh was foul. The bleeding seemed to get worse and was spraying out my head like a sprinkler. My kitchen looked like the OJ crime scene. Needlesstosay, I went to the emergency room and got 12 stitches.

Busted my nuts open twice while BMX'n

60 stitches on the arm from a window.

Broken hand from playing hide and seek. It got caught in a truck bumper while running around it.

Over 100 ankle bites and shin digs for skateboarding.

Some beer glass still in my hand. I dont remember how it got there.

Busted up knee from Skiing. It hurts when it rains.

Scars all over for getting washed up on the reef in Punta Abre ojos while surfing.

Theres tons more though. Too much to list :winkwink:

I am like you, very lucky in regards to injuries. Those I have had were stupid.

Car accident. Cracked ribs, broken ribs. (very lucky all considered)

Wiped out on speed bike when I was around 13 in a gravel patch. Ripped elbow all the way to the bone. It took a summer and then some to heal. Still have decent sized purple scar.

Scar on face from cat. I had put it up on pole of clothes line. She jumped off. Cut face. Looked like Kano from Mortal Kombat.

Have scar on upper and lower lip. Was drunk and playing around at a work party. People were doing this take down method we used at the job (I worked at neurological rehab one summer). I was wasted, and the jumped me. Landed straight on face. Teeth cut through lip, upper and lower, all the way through. I do not remember how many stitches total, but were quite a few. Luckily was very drunk.

Fairly lucky and injury free for most of my life.

lol, I could imagine trying to explain that to the doctors in the emergency room. "Any WHY did you put a hot spoon against the wound?" lol.



Worst I've had was when I was younger I use to compete in martial arts tournaments in BC. One year I made it to the final round for the championship (yay me!). The guy I fought landed a brutal side kick to my chest that broke 3 ribs on left side, I woke up a few hours later in the hospital and spent a few weeks there :(

I have what appears to be an incision scar above my left knee and also a circular scar in my left pec which appears to be from a gunshot or something. I have never been stabbed or shot, so I have these mystery scars that I have no idea where they came from.

But, I did break an ankle from when I was young and skateboarded. My ollie was never the same after that. :(

I've been pretty lucky to have never been seriously wounded.

Went off a jump on my dirtbike, fell off mid jump landed on my shoulder, bike landed on top of me, bone damn near came out of the skin. Had to drive the bike home then go to the ER. Ended up getting a Type V Shoulder Sepration. Good times.

I once broke a nail........

Broke most of my fingers a few times, broke my arm, my wrist, ankle, a rip, several teeth and have done a lot of damage to my joints and have had several dislocated bones. I have seriously chipped shin bones and scars all over me. Almost all from skateboarding, though a few of the scars are from trying to jump over a barbed wire fence. I've even had all the skin removed from my back once.

It hurts when I get out of bed in the morning.

No regrets.

Once when I was in the Marines I was throwing a party off base at my house with a bunch of chicks my (then) wife worked with. A few guys from my unit that I wasn't really friends with showed up drunk, and I refused to let them in. A fight broke out, and we dragged back to base by the Military Police and confined to barracks for the night. In the middle of the night three of them attacked me, gagged me, and dragged me outside to the laundry room. There they tied me up to a chair and beat the shit out of me for the next three or four hours. Eventually I broke free and ran; I woke up the next day in the hospital. I had a broken finger, lots of bruises, and internal bleeding.

This is me a week after that incident...

After the Marines I was working a a fast food restaurant, and some seventeen year old kid got jealous that I was flirting with his g/f. One night as we were closing down I was taking out the trash. I propped the door open with a 2x4, and was half way to the dumpster when he pulled up with a gun. I was like "whatever, either shoot me or walk away because I got work to do" (or something like that). I turned around and went about my business and the fucker shot me in the ass. I'm not sure if shooting the gun scared him or if it was the fact that he had just shot someone, but either way he dropped the gun. I wasn't hurt - it went in my ass and right out - so I grabbed the 2x4 and beat the shit out of him, breaking his jaw.

I ended up taking his parents to court and that's how I bought my first new car.

lol hockey injuries as well... those just aren't as stupid and funny.

If we are going to include fingers and toes then I couldn't even count the amount of times I have broke them. I remember breaking 4 of the fingers on my left hand. The day I was supposed to go back to the doctor I got 2 of my fingers on my right hand slammed in a door at school. Doh!

shot stabbed hit in the head with a bat or 2/4 doc dunno what it was

Broke both ankles at different times - Soccer and skateboarding
Broken Nose - sucker punched
Broken wrist - MTB'ing
Dislocated shoulder - bombing Mt. Tam
broken elbow - skim boarding (that hurt)
broken fibula- skating (still have 8 screws in my leg)

Shattered radial head in elbow. It's made of metal now and still hurts 2 years later.

Also some dude cut the webbing between my thumb and index finger, 15 stitches. He had the 10" knife up to my neck but I got it away.
