Single Payer Health Care Excluded....

The majority of American want national single payer health care. The Senate Finance Committee had a round table discussion and not one proponent of single payer health care was invited.

These are the people stopping health care reform. They are in bed with the big insurance companies.

We can't afford single payer and it would mean the elimination of an entire industry...

What is the lesser evil?

A government bureaucrat or a CEO deciding on your health care.

hundreds of thousands of lost jobs... :2 cents:

Am I missing something here?, these are all Democrats you have listed here. With the Democrats controlling all three branches of the government now. If they can't get that passed now, it will never pass, which really means Americans don't want single payer.

Well, if they lose their jobs at least they don't have to worry about their health under single payer health care.

Single payer was never going to happen, never had a chance, and nobody during the campaign promised it.
The idea that no single payer advocates were at this meeting and therefore health care reform won't happen is ridiculous.

Get a grip man.

There will be a public plan that the private plans have to compete with, there will be universal access. That's what we're going to get.

It may eventually evolve into a single payer system, but nobody thought single payer was ever going to happen this year, it's not even on the table for discussion.

Here is a good list of frequently asked questions about single payer health care.

People don't understand that our health care system in America is broken. Health care in America is profit driven by earnings to their shareholders. CEOs make your health decision based on profits and earnings, not on your health.

Single payer is cheaper then the disastrous road we are on.

TheSenator 05-07-2009 10:28 AM

48 million people are uninsured in America. Everyday people working a full time job are losing their health benefits.

I hope someone will stand up and stop it before it is too late. Where will the people from Canada go to get decent health care if US health care is socialized too? We will all have to go to Mexico to get decent treatment (along with all the doctors.)

oh, the horror!

Lots of people understand that. I am one of them.

However, I also understand that there is no realistic way to get a single payer plan passed through this congress, so getting pissed off at people for not doing the impossible is pretty silly.

Umm it's big business whom doesn't want a national health care plan such as this. It's why every other commercial on TV is for insurance or some fucked up drug.
