I don't like following, I just want followers for a new project I'm working on.

Semi-Retired-Dave 05-08-2009 12:08 PM

It is not a scam but perhaps not what you want as you do not want to follow, just be followed. It works to build a following but you can only follow 1k per day. After about 48 hours 40-50% will have followed you then you unfollow those not following you and follow 1k more. Then it is just a matter of repeating every 2 days to grow your acct.

The program is written for a windows based computer but in a few weeks they will have it upgraded to run on adobe air which will allow it to run on a mac. I own a copy and have used it with success.

I have had accounts banned for following less than 1k per day. I always wondered why hummingbird would not get an account banned, does it use multiple accounts or just one?

DateDoc 05-08-2009 12:25 PM

as many as u want - there are 7 loaded in mine.

I use Hummingbird and it rocks. I manage a bunch of mainstream niche twitter accounts.

In the week that I've been running Hummingbird, I've grown my accounts to over 35k followers from about 1400.

I've got a link in my sig. It really is the ultimate twitter tool.

I've not had a single account banned. You are limited to how many new accounts you can follow each day, but that just resets and you're good to go the next.

Damn so that hummingbird thing works pretty good

marketsmart 05-08-2009 03:12 PM

i have had problems with hummingbird lately getting shut off way before 1000 a day..

its still good though if you want to build a following over time with multiple accounts..

From what I have noticed it is twitter that is cutting it off. They do not use a calendar day but make it once you follow 1k you can not follow anyone else for 24 hours. So if you run it monday afternoon then try again tuesday morning twitter is not going to let you add anyone until tuesday afternoon.

Yep. This is how it works. I've been seeing the limit hit around the 800 -900 mark for daily follows.

Who you follow can nab you lots of new followers. So make use of the limits.

It's really easy to grow followers on Twitter without using software, why pay $200 for that shit? The real value comes when you interact in the right way with your followers and no software is ever going to do that for you.

Case in point, there are people with only 10k-60k followers each getting more RTs and FollowFridays than everyone with 6-7 figures of followers - gosh how could that be? Quality vs. quantity...people simply playing the #s game are never going to get much out of Twitter.

Sure you can do it that way but if u use the software and interact you grow a hell of a lot quicker. How long do u sit at your computer clicking follow? My main acct has over 4000 updates as I interact with people all the time. I just made growing the list of those that follow me a whole lot easier.
