Tattoos on chicks.....?
I have zero Tattoos but I have always wanted one. I want to get a tattoo of a bird on my hip bone....
This is a picture of the bird I am named after and would be getting, if I decide to do so. http://www.xbiz.net/image/user_picture/0/2/2680.sf.jpg My question is should I get it? How painful is a tattoo in a scale of 1 to 10? and does anyone know how long this would take? and do you prefer chicks with tattoos or without? |
How painful is a tattoo in a scale of 1 to 10?
all mine hurt , but after 5 min the pain was "enjoyable" |
your hip bone region will hurt more than other places on your body
|
I have one that I got when I was 19, nothing big just something on my upper arm. Now I'm in my 30's and I grimace every time I see it.
Yes it will hurt, the more detail it has the more pain you will experience, if you want an exact copy of that bird, an hour maybe a little longer Personally I find tattoos on girls extremely tacky, if your hot no reason to put graffiti on your body, I mean you would go spray paint over the Mona Lisa My advise is don't do it, it will look like complete shit in 10-15 years, especially if you get something with intricate work like the pic you posted. |

And I heard from a friend that between the toes was the hardest part and he is the most tattooed man in the world with 100% of his body tattooed. |
Don't do it. Keep yourself clean. Tattoos can be hot to look at for a minute, but they make chicks look dirty, in a not good kind of way. Some girls look great with tatoos but it has to compliment them perfectly in order for it to work. I think a scene of a bird would 'cheapen' you.

Chick tattoos suck! Don't do it!
|
that's a great tattoo. Go for it. I am a female with many tattoos. Of course its going to hurt it just depends on your pain tolerance.

Have it made as a temporary tattoo, and try it out first. Why the fuck do people get PERMANENT tattoos? They look like shit on chicks. It's sad....
|
I personally am NOT a fan. I have no tattoos, never wanted one and never will get one. My sister on the other hamnd has 2 on the back of her neck. For years she was talking about the clover and the horseshoe she was going to get. I personally don't like them, but she wanted them for a long time and very thoroughly made up her mind. It wasn't a spur of the moment I turned 18 kind of thing. I respect her decision because she considered them for years and really thought about the PERMANENT implications of her actions before she did anything.....
Personally if it were me I would wait 6 months-A tattoo is forever, and 6 months is a long enough time to reconsider and reevaluate if you really want one. Tastes change and sometimes people go through phases. If you still want one then, I think you should go for it. Talk to those who are in tehir 30's/40's/50's with tattoos. Do their tattoos still look good? Do they have regrets? Do you want this design based on a fad or does it have symbolic personal meaning for you? I saw girls with tattoos of Sailor Moon and things like that andjust though "ugh, she's going to regret that in 20 years...." Before you do anything be aware of what you would have to do if you ever wanted to remove it. Time? Cost? Scarring? Etc.... |
I've never liked tattoos.
I've always given respect to people and their freedom to express themselves. What I don't like about tattoos is that they are mostly permanent. I don't see the reason in having something like that on your body the whole time. I view it as an accessory and who wears the exact same shoes or earrings or hairstyle or whatever the rest of their lives. If you get a tattoo because it has a special meaning do you really have to get marked for life for that meaning to be special. A lot of the time the origin of that meaning changes while the tattoo remains the same. I think it makes much more sense to celebrate something with a temporary tattoo. Treat it EXACTLY like a fashion accessory. Have something special done, celebrate it and then remove it later. For me there is nothing more beautiful than a woman with clean, unmarked skin which is becoming increasingly rare. Trends come and go and there will be a time when being without tattoos will be chic. I can see why you would pick the bird for your tattoo but to me it seems silly. I'm sure you don't care what I think and you're doing it for yourself. If you're really doing it for yourself, do you have to put a permanent tattoo on yourself for your name to have meaning? |
the right tats on the right girls look great.
|
I hate tattoos on women, and I'm a photographer so I've seen a lot of them. I've never seen one that enhances a woman's beauty.
The worst ones are any kind of text, particularly a guy's name... I just shot a girl who had "Oscar" tattooed on her shoulder. I asked her about it, and apparently he was several boyfriends ago. The worst tattoo I ever saw was a bunch of random squiggles on a girl's hand and arm... she told me she and a friend had been playing with a tattoo gun when they were tripping. Porn chicks never cease to amaze me. |
That would make an awesome tattoo. The key with an tattoo, and especially one that detailed, is do the research and go to someone good. The extra $20-40 per hour for a better tattoo artist will mean alot more to you down the road. Find someone that does a similar style or can work within that realm rather than some random person a friend recommends that doesnt do any work like that.
|
I got my first tattoo at 17 and am now 35 and do not regret one of them. Many of my tats are over 10 -15 years old and they do not look like shit because I had them done by a reputable artist and in places on my bad that are more resistant to changes in the skin due to age. I also make sure to put high spf sunblock on my tattoos to avoid them getting faded. All my tattoos are deeply personal to me and are NOT a fashion accssory. As long is this is something that you have thought about, has meaning to you and you have done your research on reputable artist checking out their books and work go for it.

To me personally, tattoos look trashy and shitty. (Not interested in any rebuttles or opinions people, it's my personal feeling :) )
I just don't like skin markings like that. Seems awful. |
I hate ANY tat's on ANY chick... :2 cents::2 cents::2 cents:

think the tat you picked is a good one, hip is going to hurt, try getting it in henna first and see how you like it
|
error on the safe side. dont do it.
|
Tattoos are disgusting.
|
Just don't do it.
|
I had my hip done, it isn't that bad. My piece to 9 1/2 hours total and broke it up into 3 sessions. There are some spots that hurt more than others but it's not unbearable.

Why do you have to permanently mark your body with a tattoo for something to have a special meaning? Is it done as a reminder or does the permanence make it more of a commitment. For me it's hard to understand because all of that I can do in my head without having to get a permanent post-it note :) |
More background on the bird:
Brids have always been a big part of my life, I grew up raising a sorts of birds. I had ducks, chickens, peacocks, all sorts of finches, canary's and so forth. I just received this vase from my mother as a present with the bird I am named after on it. I wanted a tattoo before but I am kinda a big chicken and never really knew what to get so never did it. But when I got the vase I loved the bird and thought it would be a really cool tattoo. I don't want any of the branches or flowers in the tat, just the bird. |
a big no no
|
I have never seen a beautiful girl and thought for 1 second that she would be MORE attractive with a tattoo. On the flipside however, I have filmed tons of models with stupid tattoos that I would have liked 100% more without the dumb ink.
Same with stupid hair colors - pink, green, blue... blah! |

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that not getting a tattoo in his remembrance doesn't mean you feel anything less for him. Your feelings are in your head and your heart. If you had gotten a tattoo it wouldn't have been for yourself it would have been to show others how you felt. To me that means a tattoo isn't personal it's public. |
Tattoos are fucking stupid. If you had never seen one before do you think you would wake up one day and wish you had a colorful bird imprinted on your hip? I highly doubt it, it's stupid.
|
Ha ha.... every website so far has a minimum order of 500.... maybe we can all sample my tattoo.... LOL
|
You hip will probably hurt like hell. I don't know what type of body you have but if you are on the thin/slim side without much padding on you hips then it will be even worse. If you have a high pain tolerance it won't be as bad.
When it comes to pain think about the places where it feels nice to be touched, your back, hips, stomach places like that have a lot of nerves in them so it will cause the pain and anywhere where the skin is close to the bone. The good thing is that you would be getting it where it can easily be covered up. That it means something to you is good. You're not just getting some frivolous thing just because you think it is cute. As others said do your home work and get someone good and insist on lots of detail, it will make that tat all the better. For me girls with tats can go either way. I know a lot of girls with tats and I think they are hot, but if it is a trashy tat in a bad spot then it is not. Getting something that means something to you in a place where you have to show it to the people you want seeing it cool. It means you didn't just get it for attention (unless you run around naked all the time :) ) I say do some research and think about it for a few months before taking the plunge. Also think about yourself 20,30 or 40 years in the future. |

I think a tattoo can be really awesome, but YES I do agree too that some tattoos are too stupid. I am not sure what I am going to do. Hopefully by the time I am done with my 500 fake tattoos I'll have something figured out. |
such varied and strong opinions. iI got a tattoo when I was 18 and yes they spelt it wrong. I left it as is cause really how often does that happen and if you can't laugh at yourself..........
its a pretty good bar story...... oh well |

While getting inked and pierced is, to me, some what addicting... there is also something to be said for restraint. If you still want it in a few months, go further. If you can't make up your mind, or still need other people's ideas to help flesh it out - I'd guess it may be a bit early yet. It doesn't hurt, in the meantime to do some research on tattoo communities, get referrals and check out some people's work. Your artist should be able to to help with details. Find someone you click with too and won't mind sitting in a room with for a few hours:) |

Lots of great feedback in this thread and I thinks that's what you were looking for. Looks like it's love them or hate them and not too much in between. I have one last question to ask yourself. If you didn't get one, would you really regret it in the long run? |
Nice looking tat,go for it
|
no idea since I don't have any tattoo. Keep us posted when you get a tattoo

I think I could regret not getting one. I feel It would be in a place easy to hide If I wanted to look professional, or anything and no one would ever know it is there except people I allow to see it. But yeah really great feedback thank you everyone! seems to passion both ways! which is always awesome. If I get it done I'll be sure to post it on GFY... :winkwink: |
The best tattooist have a 1 year waiting list and cost $200 -$500 an hour. But it's well worth it if you think about how long it will be on your body. I would do some heavy research about the scene where ever you live and find someone who specializes in the Japanese style.
The hip will be very painful i would imagine |
Typically it's "the story" that is the most annoying thing about tattoos. Everyone has some story and they are just dieing to tell everyone else all about it. Please don't. Some tattoos look good but the majority of people who are just being trendy will certainly regret it later. :upsidedow

go for it
|
I prefer chicks without tattoos :2 cents:
