Any room for an Ask.com-style search service?
Hi -
So, what do you guys think? I've been playing around at work with a few new bad-ass technologies which could make this pretty easy. I've started to create a few POCs to demonstrate the ability for this to work, including natural searches etc etc. Seriously - go look at Ask.com and look up "flight of airplanes" - you'll see your search results with small captions, featured sites, sponsored sites, some rich media to the right such as thumbnails etc etc. So far I've been able to demonstrate this type of functionality during my testing. I'm thinking of - at first - manually importing textual content provided by sponsors, and also scraping their sites for scene descriptions and story boards and such. Hell, people could also add their own Am I just wasting my time? Is the market saturated with this shit already? I just want to do something new. My background is of a highly technical nature and I still think all of that technology stands a fair chance of making all of this a better business. Give me some feedback, eh? Thanks! |
Hi -
Forgot to mention... you'll see how apparent the success of this can be when you search Ask.com for "hardcore ass fucking", same with the other SE's as well. My point is, load it with sponsor content first, then open it up to submissions. |
Hi -
Bump because, well, dare I say I value the collective input of you all? :) Thanks! |
