I have 100,000 word press comments
 

Which are all garbage of course. I want to trash them all. Is there a plug-in to do this? I've searched but haven't been able to find one.

I just do a dump on that table in mysql, then install Akismet.

Use Akismet, it comes with Wordpress. Plugin your wordpress.com API key then click scan comments and it will remove all of the garbage. :thumbsup

I was afraid of doing a simple dump like that, I did not know if WordPress cross-references the information or catalogs the data anywhere else, etc.

You haven't had any problems doing it?

Glad to know I'm not the only one with incredible wordpress spam problems, I was just about to start a thread about the same thing. I mean, it never even get's published anyways, what's the point??

I just delete them directly through the mysql admin command line... You can probably do the same through phpmyadmin.

delete from wp_comments;

i disabled comments. pissed me off to see how many spammers are replying to my posts without saying something about the post.
i also use Spam Karma 2 and is very useful
