Moniker why are you throwing away money?
Your competitors have free whois/privacy with new registrations, your price $4 per domain.
I usually register a boat load of domains per week and every week I'm saving money by not using your company. It's too bad really, I like your company. :2 cents: |
Tell me who these 'others' are?
I can move a few hundred domains. :winkwink: |
who are u talkin about
|
Have you checked into the renewal rates of privacy after the first year? I got suckered into one of those deals, come to find out renewal was almost as much as the domain. I was spending roughly $16/domain for renewal plus privacy. Moniker hooked me up and I have since been transferring my 700+ domains to them. They are giving me better rates than I have found elsewhere, but yeah, free privacy would rock.

Thanks man! |
I'm not sure who you are referring to st0ned but it's not the company I'm using.

I have an executive account at GoDaddy and they charged me $15. Anyone know a workaround to this?
|
why pay more to use moniker over namecheap.
|
why are you paying 4.00 at moniker for privacy? I pay 2.00
|
namecheap.

Webair does free privacy, not sure what the second year rates are though. They could use a new admin area however for the domain system.
|
namecheap is probably the best company for domains IMO

I was simply offering suggestions on HOW TO get free or reduced cost privacy. But seriously, double check on the "free" privacy because as I stated I got screwed on one of those deals. |
If you want free privacy and a special unprintable offer and have 5 or more domains hit me up for a tailored deal to suit you .:thumbsup (godaddy will be the registar)
Ps..the more domains..the better the deal ..... |

I am not using privacy on my domains, and in NY alone there must be over 100 people with the same name as me and I use a PO Box...and let people call my home phone I never answere it. email spam sux though. I don't see the need for privacy...because if someone wants to sue you they can get your info from either the register or ICANN if the contact info is legit. Trust me I am checking whois like crazy...and a lot of people have bogus info. You can use a fake name...as long as your email address is correct. I rather have legit info in case of a dispute though. |

just go back and forth between namecheap and godaddy and your privacy is always free (as long as you are transferring or registering 5 domains or more)

I bet all you would have had to do was call them and tell them you were transferring all 800 over to namecheap because of the free privacy, and I bet you would have paid zero for privacy then :2 cents: |

A long time ago I used registerfly, almost everyone here should know about them and what happened. Well some of my domains went to enom because registerfly wasn't renewing (or working at all) for a good while. So I called enom up and told them what happened. They said we don't care, those domains belong to us now. If you want your domains with a company like that all I can say is good luck if anything ever happens to them. I've heard of other similar situation with other registrars and they always gave the domains back. enom sucks. |

It is next to impossible to remove privacy on the domain because the e-mail address for privacy points to Dreamhost. :helpme |

Its 2 years, and 3-4 messages later and I've never been replied too. I would not waste my time with her and try to find someone there who gives a fuck. If there is indeed anyone at Moniker who does give a fuck. |

If she's to busy to take my money I'll leave it elsewhere. I can understand her not giving a fuck about random webmasters who want to do business with Moniker, after all its not her profits. Whats hard to understand is why such a big, respected company would continue to keep her onboard with situations like this continually being spoken of. If she isn't sharp enough to set her ICQ and work emails to accept communications from prospective clients they need to hire someone who doesn't mind dealing with clients, and is eager to bring new business in. |
didnt namecheap.com offered free domain privacy?

i got everything that was enom taken care of from registerfly but when the rest got moved to godaddy i got fucked for a few domains :( |
Each of you have your own experiences and reasons why you chose a particular registrar. With us, most of our inventory is with Godaddy. They offer free privacy on bulk (5 +) registrations or transfers. Its my understanding that the free privacy option lasts as long as the initial amount of years you choose to register for. If I understood correctly from my AE, Godaddy was going to lower the fees on the privacy option very soon.
BTW. Domainers with large portfolios will be assigned their own AE. |
namecheap all the way..

Most of my domains I got out, but that was because I did that before they were up for renewal. Now if I'd known registerfly was gonna pull that crap I would've done them all sooner but no one knew. |

Regardless of all the bitchin' the GoDaddy group has nearly 1/3rd of the global domain registration market share. They didn't grow to be #1 by shafting people, stealing domains, etc, etc. Talk to your Acct Mgr. |
