Is there a program that will split a wmv on a server?
 

I'm looking for software that will split a wmv on a server. I can find plenty that will do it offline but none on a server. Anybody know of one?

properly configured ffmpeg or mplayer with the wmv codecs will do that

mencoder is the way to go, something like that should work

mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy -ss STARTTIME -endPos DURATION input.wmv -o output.wmv

just replace starttime and duration with proper values (in seconds). Otherwise ... google is your friend ... mencoder is sometimes a little bitchy ...

sorry, like StariaDaniel mentioned, mencoder, not mplayer (I use mplayer to get vid lengths, that's why I misinformed on that - same family tho)
