111 days until NFL kickoff.. Who is READY?

Fuck I am.

The off season is way way WAY too long.

That is all...

Scott McD 05-22-2009 11:24 AM

Yeah, a season doesn't actually seem to last long at all.

Our football season (soccer) over here lasts pretty much most the year. 10 months i think...

gnet 05-22-2009 11:24 AM

I have to prepare for my fantasy draft. Only 111 days left. Ugh.

CDSmith 05-22-2009 11:32 AM

I look forward to this every year.

Bring it on.

And GO NINERS!

Well the last one was 14 years ago...

I mean unless you are looking forward to past achievements....

08 record - 7-9
07 record - 5-11
06 record - 7-9
05 record - 4-12
04 record - 2-14
03 record - 7-9

Ever since John York took over the team from Eddie DeBartolo they have been a pile of fail.

Have not been close to the playoffs in a long while, they made no major moves in free agency.

Picking up Damon Huard, and Brandon Jones is not going to make them a better then 7-9 team.

What's your point? That all long-term fans of theirs should jump ship because like 30 other teams they're having a slump?

Sorry I'm no bandwagon jumper that only cheers for a team when they're winning.

What's your team?

Manowar 05-24-2009 11:49 AM

god damn jamarcus is looking bad

My point is there is nothing to look forward to, and your reply was about their past super bowls.

I don't really see how you can look forward to them winning a super bowl in 1995...

Your point is ridiculous. And every team goes by their past, because this season hasn't happened yet. Your comment was basically they're no good, my reply basically was to imply they HAVE been incredibly good, better than most, and possibly will be again, thus the question don't they have enough suberbowls for you?

What I don't understand is how a guy can start a thread which seems to celebrate football and then cock off at people who post about their team. Something seems pretty off there dude. :D

Btw, a few years ago the niners were a something like 3-13 team, last year they went 7-9. Seems like improvement to me in spite of the negativity from people like you.

Again, what's your team?

Teams go by their past if the future is not looking bright. Kind of like the ole 49ers.

Your point is still a fail. I am asking what you are looking forward to, and your reply is a super bowl win 15 years ago. Let it go and face it. Alex Smith is not the next Steve Young, he's more the next Elvis Grbac.

What is soo hard to understand. I should give a big thumbs up and pat on the ass for whatever team is mentioned? There is nothing off on what I said.

It's pretty simple, look at the 49ers, their roster, the current team, and there is nothing to be excited about but maybe a lucky 8-8 season. Maybe...

The goal going into a season is to win it all, and they are not even close, and not even trying to be close.

And they went from 2-14 to 7-9 then back to 5-11.. That shows me they are going no where.

Wrong. As of now every team is going by the past. Last year was last year dude.

But...that's not how it went. You asked who is looking forward to the start of the new season. I said I am, and closed my post with "go niners" whereupon you began this ridiculous condescending shit-talking you're now continuing with.

Whatever. You still haven't disclosed who YOUR team is. Why is that? :D

You sound like a cowgirls fan, if I were guessing. Many of them continue to be disgruntled with the niners for all the frustration they visited upon them through the 80's and into the 90's.

Your whole angle of attack is completely flawed because from what you're saying people should simply quit being a fan of a team when that team is in a long slump and/or if they have almost zero hope of winning the superbowl, which is utterly ridiculous as I said earlier. Tell that to a room full of Raiders fans, lol you'll get your head handed to you.

Tell me, who should I be cheering for? :upsidedow
