Have you actually drank Dos Equis (XX) beer?
I have. While in Mexico several years ago I tried it on several occasions. It became known as the beer you need to sip first to check to see if it's skunky. Seemed like about every third bottle had turned to skunk piss and had to be sent back.
As for the beer itself, unless they improved upon it I recall it being just okay (the ones that weren't skunky). Definitely not as interesting as the guy in their new commercials. Think it's worth giving it another shot? I want to be able to say I drink the same brew as the most interesting man in the world, but not if I have to play skunk piss roulette. |
It's not bad. I still prefer Corona.
|
I've had it on a few occasions, it's not bad beer, never ran across "skunky" ones though...

http://www.united-nations-of-beer.co.../coronaall.jpg We were ordering them as "I'll have a fat Corona".... the Mexican bartenders all started calling it that too eventually. Fat Corona is good, better than XX. |
Yes, it's not bad.

I don't really like beer but Dos Equis is not bad. Pacifico is good as well.

Dos Equis is good, both amber and lager. Corona should always be your last choice in Mexican beer.

Maybe the OP was buying from some crappy place. That beer is made in a big vat. If one is bad then they all are. Maybe some of the beer was stored out in the sun and those bottles sucked. |
I don't mind it every now and then,I still prefer Peroni
|
I always have a sixpack in my fridge.
|
I've had a few times when eating Mexican food. Not too bad

yup like Corona, I can drink it as long as it is ice cold but if it's just a lil warm it tastes like shit.. My cousin got married a few years back and at the rehearsal dinner he had only that for beer so I tried it and it wasn't bad. Not my type but still not bad. |
I like Dark XX (amber)
very good with a lime accompanied by some chips n salsa... |

|
Not sure why, but the last 2 times I picked up Dos Equis it was flat.

Seems some people like it, but no one is saying it's their favorite.
Interesting. |
Dos Equies has been available in the American market for years. At least since 1985. I recall drinking it at Chilis when I went with friends in Highschool. ( Never got carded :) )
and if you are getting that and the beer is bad, then you should not be sitting in that bar. |
the dos equis amber is pretty nice
|
I could really go for a beer right now
|
nope but the cool guy on tv seems to prefer it.
|
drink tecate
|
I drink it whenever I am in Mexico. I also like Superior.
