its sweet. I can get a Bravia 52" for about 2k but I looked at them side by side in the store and the color really is much better on the LED

I think they are great .. My first Plasma was almost 10K .. LOL .. had to have it first .. lol .. personally I would wait another yr on these .. LCD life spam is like 60K hours .. and LED is down to 40K hours .. Soooo .. I am sure someone will come up with a "new" LED that lasts longer .. and by then the price will be down a bit ..

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage....2073521 88048

OLED suppose to be better then LED

jollyperv 05-24-2009 10:22 PM

Samsung makes top notch shit...got a 40 inch, a550 I think and it rules

mynameisjim 05-24-2009 10:28 PM

I've seen LED computer monitors and I thought the colors were much better than a standard LCD.

Because of stricter and stricter environmental laws, these will probably take over pretty quickly and the price will drop pretty quick as well. There is really not anything that makes them more expensive to produce than regular LCD TV, so right now it is mostly just a premium.

mikesinner 05-24-2009 10:57 PM

Fuck, I want one.

bbm 05-25-2009 01:41 AM

40.000 hours = 13 years of 8 hours TV per day..

No one will have that TV for 13 years anyways.. so 40k hours is more than enough

I saw this tv too and I'd like one but to be honest I have a 50inch plasma in my living room now that is as good as any I've ever saw. Only had it 1.5 years so I cant justify spending another few thousand on a new tv. It would be great to have that new Samsung but its just being geeky. I'm happy with my bad ass 50inch I have.

For the record tho it is a BAD ASS tv lol

woj 05-25-2009 07:30 AM

6 months from now, they'll be half price...

i know. My 42" inch is 1/2 price from where i bought it in jan of last year

evildick 05-25-2009 07:45 AM

I remember buying my 71 inch Samsung DLP 1080P rear projection a while ago for around $4500 Canadian.

Now it's almost impossible to find a place that even sells that model, and if they do, they are more like $1500!

UGH!!!!!

SomeCreep 05-25-2009 07:46 AM

My TV repair guy says Samsungs are the worst. I'd stay away from them. Buy Sony, they make the best televisions.

That's silly, Samsung make some of the best TVs and I have never had a problem with any of mine.

Pretty sure Sharp and Samsung actually make the panels for Sony too, so if you buy a Sony there is a good chance you will have a Samsung panel in it. (or Sharp)

MandyBlake 05-25-2009 09:32 AM

i want that tv. its sooo thin!

pornguy 05-25-2009 09:43 AM

I think that thing is 2900$ here but IM not sure.

baddog 05-25-2009 10:00 AM

Happened to see it a couple weeks ago. Damn thing is thinner than my cell phone.

dready 05-25-2009 10:41 AM

OLED will make those look like black and white CRTs.

Pipecrew 05-25-2009 10:51 AM

thats the TV i just bought. Cant say how it is for sure cause I get it delivered on Thursday, but I will let you know.

bestbuy website showed 3100 the other day, so bestbuy had to give it to me at that price. I see it adjusted back now to 3329 or whatever now

Si 05-25-2009 11:07 AM

I know someone who has got a slightly smaller one than that (think its a 42") and the picture is amazing!

Much better than a normal LCD and a hell of a lot better than a plasma.

Wait for the price to come to drop a bit more though.
