Sitting Next to the FBI in starbucks and...
So I am sitting here in Starbucks and in walks the FBI, 4 older guys and 1 geeky guy. They are discussing "operation blue lightning" which appears to be a child porn sting/task force. They've been here 2 hours or so.
They are talking about a few details, but one thing that caught my attention was that their forensics spend about 3 weeks analyzing each computer confiscated during one of their stings. They mentioned each computer has roughly 60,000 images and each one of them need to be documented and described, child porn or not. it's interesting hearing all these details, but I am pretty surprised they are discussing all this in public, especially when they know several people are within 5-10 ft of them. |
great spot for an ASACP plug. Become a member or sponsor and support the cause.
Odd they would discuss it in public though. |
Fuuny, they just left to go sit at Blue Martini, a bar in the same plaza because of "all the hot young waitresses" lol
|
Maybe just a sorry bunch FBI wannabe's. Don't mind them.
|
Did you introduce yourself? LOL
|
Oh man, that'd be crazy.
|
Maybe they were baiting, I hear that often the perverts who are into sick cp shit try to "help the cause" or "fight CP" thinking that it will give them an out as far as why they ever encountered the material.
Perhaps they do that and people are like "oh I couldn't help but overhear.. " Bam! RED LIST for you overly helpful citizen.. . Or the agents just don't give a fuck, they work for the FBI.. . |
FBI gets horny too

and they want porn for free.:2 cents::thumbsup |
Someone would have a blast analyzing my hard drive.
"Item #769832: Latina transsexual inserts flacid penis into plastic device shaped like a vagina, writing on side of device - FleshLight." |
I would like to see them catalog and describe every pic on my content computer, that would take years.

I doubt they were baiting, they talked about a variety of subjects. I certainly did not introduce myself. I did feel like a wild man for posting on GFY as they were sitting here talking though. lol.
There were a couple other FBI guys who walked in after, perhaps they were all in town for a meeting or something. Either way, here's to hoping the catch the bad guys! |
Good News...but yeah you would think the FBI has private offices. StarBucks is not private:thumbsup
Mr. Romance |
should ask them for some good links!! hello!
|
how do you know they were FBI? did they flash their badges and asked if they could sit next to you?
|
at least take some pics and post here
|
LOL .. should have spun your lappy around and started recording everything with your webcam .. I am sure shit would hit the fan for them if anyone actually had to "investigate" your comp ..
|
OPERATION- Blue Balls.. Morning everyone!
|
At least you haven't had them pull up in your driveway and knock on the door ..not a fun moment or two until I found out what they were here for...
funniest part of that is the workers that were here at the time reroofing my house back in 2001 or so must have thought they were immigration cause they disappeared the moment the black car drove up and the suits got out. |

They mentioned some training they did and DCIS and OIG several times. I dont' think these guys were trying to impress anyone. lol
Deej - I did my grilling tonight. I took the kids to Orlando for Memorial weekend.. a shame I know! |
Just another business meeting like we all have from time to time...they are in the FBI industry, but otherwise people are all the same so there's no reason to expect FBI guys to not be regular people.

I dread to think what the rest of the items are! :Oh crap |
Child porn busts just outside of Tampa:
http://www2.tbo.com/content/2009/may...lk/news-metro/ Maybe this was what the guys were referring to? though the operation "blue lighting" is different than the "operation child shield" the article mentions... either way.. Kudos on busting some child porn guys! |
That is crazy!
|
ugh, they just busted some couple from my area too on cp charges like yesterday.
I'm not sure why it seems more disturbing when it's close to your own home, but by god it is! |
If that's true what a bunch of dumbasses discussing a sting operation within ear shot of people in a Starbucks...
|
That's an odd place to discuss an ongoing investigation. Sounds like it was quite interesting to be a fly on the wall, though!

I have a relative in the FBI. When he first joined I remember him talking about their child porn bust. Just think about it, it would f*cking suck to have to look at all those pics. It's some f*cked up sh*t. Anyways, idk one way or the other how much they care about discussing cases openly or not. Often time cases are open to the public, and most people just don't know it. I think that (usually) once a case hits the court it's open to the public. |
You dig this zombie up for your very first post? What the hell?
Anyway, welcome to GFY and :321GFY |
His first post, he bumps a two and a half year old thread about the FBI and child porn, and he says f*cked up sh*t instead of fucked up shit.
Total FBI newbie agent. Probably has bad taste in coffee as well. |

Oddities....
|
I have a friend who works for a pretty big international engineering company. He does stuff with their software and support. They had a guy who was downloading porn at work. They caught him once and just warned him to no download anything non-work related. He got busted a second time and they had my buddy take his computer and basically do the same thing. He spent a week documenting every single picture and video on the machine. There was nothing underage, it was all legit porn, but they had to document it that way in case he tried to sue them.
The best part of the story is since they have fired three other people for the same reason. In all the cases my buddy was the guy who documented everything. He is now basically their corporate "Porn Czar." |
