Red Wings are too strong. They will win the cup.

There is no beating the Wings. Sorry Pens fans.

Spunky 05-31-2009 06:39 PM

I didn't know the game was on..strange they are having back to back games

KillerK 05-31-2009 10:54 PM

The refs want Detroit to win.

kane 05-31-2009 11:01 PM

It has been a rough 2 days for pens fans. The wings are getting the calls, the lucky bounces and all the good fortune. Everything is going their way. If the Pens are going to lose this series I hope they just do it in four games so I don't have to get my hopes up.

spider_x 05-31-2009 11:28 PM

Sens fans ok that one's cool noone likes to say Senators but Pens fans? That sounds a little close to that other bad word...

JUST FUCKING SAY PENGUINS

GOD!
FUCK SHIT!

Socks 05-31-2009 11:29 PM

I call them penguinos.

I'll have to agree with that.

Series isn't over yet though. Now they head to Pissburgh, and frankly I'm happy about it because at least we won't have to hear the stupid Detroit fans singing that stupid "born and raised in SOUTH DETROIT" Journey song for a while. And the cocktopus thing is getting old as well. I mean like holy shit already.

If the Penguins can take two at home now that would be sweet, because if the wings take it in 4 straight that's pretty anticlimactic to an otherwise pretty decent playoffs.

AsianDivaGirlsWebDude 06-01-2009 12:13 AM

Hockey as a sport is friggin' ridiculous if it's main drawing point is non-hockey, league sanctioned (mostly fake), brawling:

http://www.canadaka.net/modules/My_e...sWingfield.jpg

It's almost gotten to the level of pro wrestling (totally fake) or NASCAR (which brings in fans mostly due to spectacular crashes - making no effort to deny that watching professional drivers going 500 miles in a circle without crashes is exciting - as if that ever happens).

Most pro sports and even some amateur sports appear fixed these days. I'll still watch, because I enjoy sports, but I would much prefer clean sports, where athletes compete honestly, and integrity and sportsmanship are more important than making money for the individual greedy owners and players.

Why the fuck did they play back to back games in the finals? Did they get kicked out of their own arena because of a Yanni concert again? NBC would have got better ratings airing reruns of The Office and 30 Rock. :1orglaugh:1orglaugh

They had to play back to back because NBC didn't want to put the game on in prime time on a weeknight. They were talking about it the other day on ESPN. It is pretty lame, but they know they will get better ratings doing something else in prime time on monday, especially since it is Conan's first night on the tonight show they want to spend the whole night leading up to that.

I remain hopeful. When they go home they can get the last change and get a little better match ups. They really are a couple of lucky bounces and fluke situations from being right in the series. If they can win them both at home then I think it is anybody's series. If they lose one at home it is over.

You have no clue what you speaking about. Fighting majors was down 30 percent this year. 20% last year. Powerplays are too good, instigation rules are up. New rule that instigation of a fight in last 5 min of game is a 1 game suspension. Hockey is the fastest, most hard hitting sport around.

Pete-KT 06-01-2009 09:07 AM

DETROIT all the WAY BABY

MetaMan 06-01-2009 09:32 AM

Its not over but still detroit is extremelyyyyy strong they just make very little mistakes then wait for you to make one then tighten up. they are just soooo solid and built for the playoff stretch now.

CDSmith 06-02-2009 06:22 PM

2-2 so far, Pens are looking much better tonight.

Good game. :D

Exactly right, and well said. :thumbsup

Rock It 06-02-2009 06:59 PM

I think red wings although it would be great with the pens winning for sure!

CDSmith 06-02-2009 07:48 PM

4-2!

PENS are alive! ALIVE I TELL YOU!!

If they win game 4 we have a series.

Hope springs eternal

Yep Pens aren't going with out a fight.:thumbsup

Vitasoy 06-03-2009 01:21 AM

Wing in 6, would be my guess

CDSmith 06-03-2009 05:15 AM

If spittsburgh wins tonigh I think my pre-series prediction of Pens in 7 has a real chance of coming true.

Tonight's a pivotal game.

Si 06-03-2009 06:54 AM

I want the pens to win (even thought they knocked my team out  )

I'd hate to see the Red Wings win it again.

Sometimes.... sometimes you just talk and talk and talk and have no idea what you are talking ABOUT. No response required, we will agree to disagree.

Furious_Male 06-03-2009 11:01 AM

Detroit should still take the cup even though the NHL would love a Pitt win. Can you see the headlines now? They would ride Crosbys jock even more then they are now.

I pretty much expected a win by Pitt last night. Lets see how the next game goes. If things get tough for Pitt they can always toss an extra man on the ice to make it 6 on 5. No One seems to care.

V_RocKs 06-03-2009 12:28 PM

Murder time.

CDSmith 06-03-2009 04:03 PM

Did I say tonight? I meant TOMORROW NIGHT'S GAME.

No hockey tonight. :(

You mean like no one seems to care when Zetterburg grabs the puck and pretends he is a goalie?

The next 2 games are going to be insane hockey.

Great playoffs this year all around. I believe the next 2 games will be off the hook too.

CDSmith 06-05-2009 02:10 PM

That should have been a goal credited on that empty-netter last night, not just a hooking penalty. Luckily the goal wouldn't have been instrumental to their win because if it had there would have been hell to pay.

Without the hook he would have scored, of that I have zero doubt.

Hopefully a shit call like that doesn't end up deciding who wins the cup.
