Scared to fly..... throw some advice
I'm scared the plane will crash due to turbulence or mechanical failure.
Any advice? |
Go to the doctor and get Ativan.
|
dont forget you can meet another plane in the air

xanax? how long is your flight?

XANAX, an hour or so before. Or take a half when you think you need it, and another a bit later.
|
you don't need drugs. You just need to fuck a thai hooker before boarding, then stop caring if you make it or not.
|
alcohol works, that's why they have bars in airports

I do not same for myself. I take it an hour before take off, and I am fine. I am not worried about the crash. I've lived a full life. However, being cooped up like a sardine I can pass on. |

John Madden is retiring from announcing. Maybe he'll rent you the Madden Cruiser - I hear it's a pretty sweet ride: http://thebsreport.files.wordpress.c...rop_2_nl8y.jpg ADG |
its ridiculously improbable that you'd be in a crash, and even if you were in a crash its still pretty likely that you'll survive the crash
odds of dying in a crash though? astronomically huge, like winning the lottery if you buy 2 tickets huge. |
Dont look down
|
i guess those 228 Air France travelers are all lottery winners :(

Broadly speaking, the numbers are compelling. From 1983 to 2000, the National Transportation Safety Board investigated 26 major commercial accidents involving 2,739 people. A total of 1,525 survived, or 56%. |
lol well people do win the lottery, and since there are so many people on the earth and so many flights some are bound to crash, but look at it this way: you can fly a plane twice a week for the next 100,000 years before you're likely to crash!
|
here's what i suggest.
go to this site that i found the other day... read the transcripts and listen to the flight data recorder conversations before the planes crash. these guys are surprisingly professional as they die. it really put me at ease http://www.tailstrike.com/database.htm "fuck" seems to be a favorite last word |

my wife hates to fly... it has nothing to do with odds or crashing or anything like that... panic attacks are beyond reason. Do Drugs!!! (not the first time I've said that)

There used to be some free downloads on that site, I assume that there still are. I printed them out and read them a bunch of times. They helped. :) |
I heard somewhere that an extremely high percentage of those that do die in plane crashes are first time fliers. Probably just a rumor though.
|
I've been on flights in typhoons, where they thought they found a bomb, and where the landing gear wasn't all the way down and locked into place. You'll be ok...that's why all the fire trucks and ambulances are lining the landing runway.
No sweat......you can't change fate. Enjoy the trip. |
Focus on what awaits you there and look forward to that before you take a xanax and if it is a long flight, an ambien. I used to be afraid of flying, even though my dad was a flight attendant for years until he retired, but then I read that the the probability of a crash due to turbulence is extremely rare, as most of the accidents occurred usually at take off or landing, primarily in inclement weather.
Now it is just another form of transportation to me like an automobile or bus or rail. Just a way to get where I'm going. Also, there are self hypnosis/self help audio cd's that you may find reassuring. |
get some xanax
|
The most dangerous part of flying is the drive to the airport :2 cents:
|
I'm fuckin' SCARED THAT I MIGHT STILL BE IN KANSAS
So, After what FOUR WEEKS I'm finally having 84 drinks THAT would help you get on the plane .. .. or play with guns Or Have sex with strange women Well I got rid of the strange women problem I have ONE now Who is dangerous Don't know whether to stab her or cum all over her same ol ' thing |

You need to do some meditation before you fly, that should clear your mind and of course help you to stop thinking on that.Don`t be afraid its perfectly safe and you need to stop thinking negative on all this
|
How bout growing some balls and just manning the fuck up....
|
Afraid to fly?
Grow a pair and face your fears. Eat 1/2 a xanax and relax. If you go down, it's out of your hands anyway. You're going to die sooner or later. If it really bothers you, prepare your will and estate now so if it happens, you are covered. |
I like to fly on xanex and vodka :)

Let me guess, you have no problem travelling by car though, right? Quote:
Tidal, flying on a commercial airline is about 100,000 times safer than hitting the highway in your car. (give or take) Just don't sit near the window, and pretend you're on a really big bus. :D |
Just fly qantas
|
Do like B.A. Baracus let somebody hit you hard, so you fell in sleep. ;)
I love it when a plan comes together. ;) |
I think after the Air France plane that just went down anyone would have a fright before boarding their plane. I get very panicky on planes and would never sky dive/bungee jump/etc.
Go to the Dr., pop a Xanax and doze off before your flight. It's out of your hands and you just have to let go of the control factor. It's like if you go to the Doctor after a heart attack- you have to trust and have faith in another person and just let go. If you happen to get that "winning" lottery ticket, nothing you can do about it. Make sure you're living your life the way you want to in the meantime.... |
is Xanax stronger than Temazepam, Oxazepam or the Lorazeopam (ativan) mentioned by Warchild?
|
sorry no idvice here - i always shit in my pants when i have to fly
|
For some reason I was reminded of:
|
Take meds.
