If you license DVD content something to be aware of...
 

Most new DVDs available for license are not new at all.

They are compilations. Older scenes grouped together to be resold as something new.

It is happening so often now we are getting extremely annoyed.

So if you see a new studio pop up with a bunch of titles, good chance they are comps and you probably already have the content.

I guess you didn't get the memo. That was the way it was back in 2001.

That is very true and we keep records that show if the dvd has new releases or they are comps. It is happening very often and if we don't keep records for both our customers and studios it will only make our job very hard, either customer is not happy or it's twice the work for us to exchange. We have over 2,000 titles that are not even on our site because of this...
I'm sure they still happen because we can never be 100% with the info we get from our studios...

This is happening even more so now because ALL the DVD companies are losing their asses and trying to turn a buck any way they can.

Some studios are releasing nothing but comps over and over and over again, calling them new releases.

I have noticed this for while now . Lots of
recycled old dvd content now days . Busting them out with a new DVD cover / selling the rights to various distributors .
Making it seem "New"
DVD license brokers should give refund to
their customers if this happens , cause it is very annoying and waste of $$$ . I
lose thousands on this very exact situation .
