Surfers looking for amateur content not like high quality?
 

I have really been looking at stats over several years and expected to see the higher quality videos to be watched more often.

What I found was that they where still watching the grainy tiny off color bad lighting videos and hardly ever watching the higher quality videos.

Same with photos unless they where more glamor oriented.

Has anyone else seen this in the amateur niche?

People want to believe It's "homemade" even though they know deep down that It's produced porn they want that boyfriend/girlfriend home filmed feel to it.

Yup I think ALL solo girls should either take webcam pics or self taken bathroom mirror pics from time to time to post in their members cause it makes that site way more personal then a solo girl site where the girl has shot 100 sets all in a week and never shot again.. surfers are smarter these days and can see the differences in these sites

Personally...high-end glam does absolutly nothing for me.

No wonder Playboy is in the tanks while smaller, gritty amateur producers are probably doing pretty well right now.

So far it's like forget the studio lights and go back to the old bulky RCA VHS Camcorder that has a buzz in the audio.

people like both. They want to see you in high res but are happy to see you in what they call behind the scenes too.. If you can offer the perfect mix of both separated you will have happy rebilling members

People want the video to be clear, but they want the girl/action to appear raw and authentic.

Sometimes a lower quality video will make the girl appear better looking to the viewer. If she looks close to what he thinks is hot but it's not totally clear, I think the imagination fills in the rest. Similar to why girls can look super hot in myspace pics, your imagination fills in details.

Another thing I am seeing in stats over the years is that the tours that look like they where created by an amateur are out selling the pro looking tours.

So far it's looking like you need to dumb down things in the amateur niche.

Exactly. What we where doing back in the late 90's seems to be the best. When we started using higher quality and pro designers sales started going down. When we started going back to the roots of amateur, sales started climbing again.

Guess some niches - higher quality does not equal higher sales.

Yup, we launched HerBedroomWindow with a simple but still professionally outsourced design ... and frankly, it flopped. Conversions nowhere near the crappy designs I did myself for our other sites. So I just quickly threw together a barebones new tour and sales immediately spiked.

Its absolutely the truth and not just a recent trend that surfers looking for real amateur content will pass by the "produced porn" fake amateur content 90% of the time. They can spot the fake stuff instantly.
It amazes me that content producers cannot provide the real feel of true amateur/homemade content..they will say they have it but they don't, its all crap.

The so called "amateur" sites being released by the sponsors are a joke and so over produced they aren't even worth sending traffic to. Most solo girl sites fall into the same trap as they evolve over time and lose the appeal they had when they started.

You are making a huge mistake if you believe you are fooling the surfer or believe that even though they know its a really a porn star and not some real milf next door, it satisfies the desire they have, it doesn't.

I like homemade myself when watching porn.

It's funny you say that. We have 100% ecological, home-grown real amateur content, sent by people, and we can't get much conversion of it. People are not going for it. Maybe it's not so demanded after all...

There are a lot of sites out there that are making a killing with the real amateur stuff. But some of the amateur sites around here are using studio content as filler.
