When are you MOST PRODUCTIVE? Morning, Noon, Afternoon, Evening, or Night?
Differing people have differing time preferences when they get in "the zone" of high personal productivity. Which period are you the most productive in? Morning (5 am to 11 AM) Noon (12 to 1) Afternoon (1 to 5) Evening (6 to 9) and Night (10 to 4)?
I'm at my personal peak in the Morning. You? |
I'm most productive when I first wake up, after breakfast. This is when my brain is working best and it's easiest for me to focus.
|
Most productive 2 hours into my day.. breakfast is brainfood!
|
sundays only
|
I was under the impression there would be more late night people
|
every 5th wednesday between 2pm and 2:30 pm
|
night time
|
I can't really work during the daylight hours even though those are probably my best hours.
I like to use the daytime for myself, then work from about 7 or 8 till about 4 a.m. But I'll switch it up depending on how I feel but I've always been a night person. Even in gradeschool I would stay up late and watch David Letterman, then Bob Costas, then the late night infomercials which were just starting to show up. Next thing I knew it was 3 a.m. and I had to wake up in 3 hours...lol. I hate being a night owl like that but I just can't go to bed before 3 or 4 a.m. I gave up trying to fight it. |
I actually am the most focused and work the best when I get up at 6-7A, and can have my day's worth of work done by noon, treadmill and lift, and then be free to jetski the afternoon. Come back, take a nap, and work a little in the evening.
However... Because of the fucking construction and other shit going on at my house, also working on new websites (programmers and designers France/Poland/UK time difference), I am going to bed at 6-7A, sleeping until noon-2P. Dealing with assistants, and construction shit, and then finally get to work around say 6-7P. Needless to say, I will be happy when construction is done. :disgust |
both night time and day time but I work much better when my misses is not around
|
0-5 am i am like 250% of normal productivity :)
|
whenever gfy is down.
|
Late night on stimulants makes me the most amount of money. When my hands are shaking and my heart is pounding shit is getting done.
I think most of us start a project on normal speed and it is up to you if you want to finish before sleep. Come to terms with either finish tomorrow like average Joe or never give up never surrender get me some crack mode. |
I can bring myself up to combat speed anytime, time of day (or night) is immaterial.
In other words I'm a fucking machine. ...then again I've been known to coast for 3 months and let things ride. Hard work + working smart requires serious downtime once in a while. |
usually now but I ain't got any motivation at the moment.
I Need some energy :) |

I hear you man. I've had construction go on for 8 months next to where I live last year. Great for staying up, for sure.

haha I need one of those! I'd say late night from midnight to 5am is when I get the most work done.. i grab a redbull or cocaine energy drink and just work on shit that needs to be done.. during the day i do more bs work like emailing and stuff that just keeps me busy all day but for productive "projects" they get done after midnight |
Its 1:34am - so a certified nightowl here.
No phone or visitor distractions - easiest to concentrate. |
My rythm is very off at the moment, the best is when I wake up at ~9 have breakfast and do work from like 9:30 untill I'm hungry for lunch. Eat lunch and then usually I do some more work for an hour or 2. These are the day's when I'm productive, on unproductive day's like I'm at now I get up at 4pm , look stats, eat food, look more stats, MAYBE work for 30min-1 hour then hang with friends etc. Watch NHL hockey or other TV stuff then get to bed at 6am-7am.
I need some kind of schedule to get up to. Someone give me a job that I need to be up by 9am plz LOL |

night time is the best for "real" work. i usually get things done from midnight till 6 AM. when the birds start to sing and i have to close the porch light , then i go to sleep until 11-11.30 am -wake up read and answer emails, check what i have to do next, find new sponsors , update my members area, then maybe take a nap around 4 pm for an hour -- back to the comp, watch a dvd or online tv show ( french tv) , go out with GF and friends till 1-2 am, and if i'm not fried i work again till 6 am ..... when i do not go out i usually start to work on productivity needing projects around 10-11 pm .... till 6.am
of course between this there is the usual boards whoring, the inevitable distractions from clicking links which bring you new ideas etc etc this is a routine day when i do not go out of the house for business or leisure ....... i never watch TV . |
I haven't been productive since 2003.
|
Im the most productive in the morning when my mind is clear and rest
|
night, less distractions then :thumbsup
|
for me, it's night because that's when most of the people are up :]
|
When I put on my alarm at like 6:30 am, make some coffee and start to work. I'm at my most productive. Don't know why, maybe because it feels like 'work'. Days from like noon until 7pm I spend fucking around and doing my offline-biz things and shit..then again later at evening I become productive 'online'..
So I'd say the MOST productive I'm in the mornings, but evenings and nights don't come much behind. |
Mornings for sure
|
Always do most of my work after midnight.
