Just saw Drag Me To Hell

Holy shit that was a bad ass movie. If you like horror movies you must see this. Its a funny movie too! Check it out!

necoeds 06-02-2009 04:00 PM

My roommate just said the exact same thing to me last night about drag me to hell! He said it's a cult classic 4 sure!

DK 06-02-2009 04:04 PM

Ive been in love with Allison Lohman since White Oleanders!

Yen_HerbalRevenue 06-02-2009 04:09 PM

is it freaky or funny? How does it compare to The Ring? I don't know why but that movie freaked me the fuck out!

What was funny in it? I didn't think it was supposed to be a black comedy...

Its like how Evil Dead 2 is kinda funny and scary at the same time. In this movie, when the posessed goat calls her a whore and bites that dudes hand I busted out laughing. This movie is mostly scary with a few evil laughs thrown in.

Mr Pheer 06-02-2009 04:28 PM

Doesnt it come out on friday? How did you see it early?

qxm 06-02-2009 04:28 PM

because of the fact that there is some humor mixed up in there .....it kills the whole atmosphere for me .... the special effects and the story are too cheesy to qualify as a good "horror movie" in my book...

I miss the good ol' days when special effects had nothing to do with a good horror movie ... yeap those were the days ....

CaptainHowdy 06-02-2009 04:47 PM

Can't wait to check it out... :)!

Rand 06-02-2009 05:08 PM

I'm seeing this tonight and can hardly wait. I know a couple of people who worked on this film and have heard all about it. RottenTomatoes rates it a 94 (it was 100 until more reviews came in) and that's excellent.

Scary movies aren't scary anymore. This one has all the elements to be a real scary movie and Rami is just the guy to pull it off.

DreamGirls 06-02-2009 05:25 PM

I saw it last night because of the Rotten Tomatoes rating. It really lived up to the reviews.

The scary parts work due to the perfect timing of the soundtrack and visual effects.

The humorous parts keep you shaking your head, and enjoying the movie till the end.

Put this movie on your "must see" list...

IllTestYourGirls 06-02-2009 05:33 PM

Might have to check it out now

skrog 06-02-2009 08:24 PM

Nothing like another comedy from Sam Raimi. I can't wait to see it.

lazzlo 06-02-2009 11:05 PM

I saw it, it was ok. Too corny tho to be scary. It's not thriller scary, it's more startle scary. Like all quiet and then loud noise scenes and something close to the camera.

raven1083 06-02-2009 11:16 PM

I'm not into horror movie

It's far from a horror movie more of a comedy. Sam Raimi is a huge three stooges fan. I can't wait to see it.

uno 06-02-2009 11:42 PM

Is Bruce in it at all?

:( I'll probably see it anyway. I like most of Raimi's work.

The Ghost 06-03-2009 11:54 AM

The trailer made it look neither scary or funny, but word of mouth on it is great from everyone. Will check it out this weekend

Rand 06-03-2009 12:05 PM

Saw DMTH last night and really enjoyed it. Will be seeing it again sometime when it's out on DVD.

You should go into this movie expecting a comedy, not a horror film and you won't be disappointed. To the uninitiated, you might want to consider seeing Evil Dead 2 before seeing DMTH and you'll have a good idea of what you're in for. The use of sound, inanimate objects, actor physicality, camera angles, etc... make these Rami flicks unique.

If you liked Evil Dead 2, you'll like Drag Me To Hell a lot!

webair 06-03-2009 12:38 PM

MandyBlake 06-03-2009 01:52 PM

aztecboi2003 06-03-2009 05:51 PM

I took my kids to go see it, but I totally predicted the ending. It was pretty funny though. My 13 yr old liked it and laughed a lot, my 8 yr old, well she thought it was ok. But that night my son slept in my room on the floor because he was scared of the old gypsy woman.

voa 06-03-2009 06:06 PM

Ok its on my list must see movie, i heard some good replays for this one

JaneB 06-03-2009 10:45 PM

I was thinking about going to see it. I guess I will go this weekend.

Thurbs 06-04-2009 12:01 AM

It was the best horror I've seen, simply put.

The woman next to me was literally hiding behind her handbag, and the girls beside me were clutching each other (not me, sadly)

That is not a movie for kids. :2 cents:
Even the language is in appropriate. WTF were you thinking?

Neon Dollars Daniel 06-04-2009 02:00 AM

The trailer looked promising, I guess I'll be watching it soon. :thumbsup

It IS only rated PG-13 and it's not that bad, when there's a scary part, they'd throw in something disgusting or funny to take away from the horror aspect of it being truly fearful.

I'd take my 13 year old to see it if he wanted to go.
